What is The Badger Dance? Sounds like something Beretta made.

You shouldnt do crazy stuff around other people, and especially not at the welcome area. You are probably bothering them.
If anyone told you to stop, you should have stopped.
Even if no one tells you to stop you should have something between your ears to tell you what's right and wrong.
I love the badger thing, but if I was in a public place minding my own business I wouldnt want 5 people dancing and making noise around me.

Yes. I would say especially so at the Welcome Area. It tends to have the most strict enforcement which makes sense because it is for most new people, their first view of the SL world. First impressions mean a lot. I always try to help by explaining the TOS or CS, and Welcome Area rules when someone is doing something I know is going to get them reported. After that it pretty much becomes up to the other person if they want to change their action. Personally, dancing at the welcome area doesn't bother me in the least. Not even constant loops. And I'd say most probably don't have an issue with dancing there either, but sound loops over and over - a *big* no-no in the Welcome Area rules.

As usual, Hiro misinterprets posts and motivations while trying to be a hero...

Aside from your insistance on writing me off without addressing my comments, I can't see how you could say there's anything subtlely resembling even an attempt at heroics in my post. It's called seeing both sides of an issue. If a person thinks that is heroics, then they are a blind fool for not seeing ... both sides of an issue.
From: someone

As for Hiro's comments... who the heck cares what your analysis of the LH program is in this thread?

Apparently, you care enough to respond.

*sigh* everything has to be difficult with you, eh?
From: someone

Your post is a hijack

Hijack, as in, a thread that goes off topic?

Um, no.

Is there some other definition of hijacking a thread that you're using? I'm confused.

From: someone
/"look at me and my 'wise analysis'" post

I saw nothing in my post particularly that was attention getting in a way to say the intentions were "look at me". Would you prefer unwise analysis?

From: someone
that has nothing to do with this thread.

Please, enlighten us. How is my post that you called "analysis of the LH program" off topic from this thread?

From: someone
That might sound nasty... It's not intended as any more nasty than my post to Malachi. Then again, I am certain you will feel flamed. Tough.

No, as usual I'll address your comments at face value. In this case, it's not a flame; the correct naming of your response to me would be more in the realm of "avoiding the topic of discussion".

Not that I really wanted a response. As I've heard another person in these forums say, I agree with your concerns, but your attitude turns people off to your point of view. In this post, I saw that you were expressing intelligent concerns, and was offering a fairly tame counter-viewpoint.

Not that I even need to justify my freedom to post here on topics that I have ideas and/or feelings about and feel that I have something a little additional to offer. But since

Cris, you aren't actually trying to make sense of this thread, are you? :D

Hey, I'm all about the "mushroom, mushroom", that song cracks me up. However, I was just in the Welcome Area and it was jammed packed! If five of you showed up playing this song, I would have been annoyed too. Sorry :)

*clears throat* Please note I once dive bombed the Welcome Area with 10 of my friends dressed as seagulls yelling "MINE, MINE, MINE!" over and over again. Luckily the Welcome Area wasn't busy or chaotic at the time or I would have been sent a warning too. DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME KIDDIES. :D

I stopped by AHern and saw this, I didnt see anything worthy of a ban but I was not there very long. I left because there was a guy in a huge worm avatar that stood taller than the telehub. It was lagging me VERY bad. I hope that nit-wit got banned.

How anyone could be on the net and not know of this is beyond my ken.

The badger song and dance, the original.

Spatula World! Spatula World! Spatula World! Buy 9 spatulas, get the 10th for just one cent! Look us up in the yellow pages under... Spatulas!

Edit: The Badger song and dance, albeit amusing, really doesn't have a place at the welcome area, especially if you are looping sounds. It just gets distracting and after a while can get really irritating.

I completely agree.

The badger song/dance is good for a quick laugh. About 10 seconds worth. After that it's really annoying, especially if more than one person has the music going. I don't think a 24 hour ban is too harsh, but I do think a warning should have been given or at least they should have been asked by a Linden to stop, then if they didn't, do the ban.

Oooh! I would've loved to see that. LOL

I was with a bunch of naked lego people in Ahern. We danced the "Vengaboys are coming" loop. I was a lego person too, but I was fully clothed. I'm demure like that. :p

Muddy the waters of Live Helper status at the peril of the entire program - unless I am wrong, in which case, I hope a Linden clarifies and states that Live Helpers should be considerd Baby Lindens. If that IS the case, I and a few others I know will sell our land and leave. No other PAYING customer has a right to tell me squat according to the TOS as far as "enforcement" of any rules goes.

Mediation in player disputes is part of the Live Helper remit. They hold no enforcement powers, but can perform the role of a mediator in a disagreement. Much the same role that mediators hold in, say, Small Claims court.

:) tee hee hee

I also do a wonderful soft shoe shuffle to 'bananaphone' and a nifty 'march dance' to Scampi..

But none of them hold a candle to the seductive burlesque striptease I do while playing The Moon Song .

Siggy.
