If anyone buys anything from Sex Girls and doesn't get their item please let me or Melissa King know. We don't play around when it comes to customer service and will replace your item with no questions asked.

Same thing happened to me, I bought an outfit at Pixel Dolls and it hasn't shown up in my inventory, that was three days ago. I am done shopping until this gets resolved I think.

This problem has affected GOM ATM deposits as well. If you've made a deposit and not had your GOM account balance updated right away (deposits should take less than a minute to go through), IM me or Zeppi Schlegel, or (better yet) send a support request through the GOM website and we'll get it corrected asap.

These problems are caused by the heavy database load we are seeing, and are the result of objects not being transferred into the part of the database where your inventory is stored. We are working as fast as we can on a fix - hopefully tommorow morning, that will restore performance.
For the more technically minded - the problem is actually NOT the asset server (or 'asshat' as you prefer to affectionately call it herein). The database and the asset servers are different - since moving to the Isilon hardware for assets we have adequate capacity and performance. The problem is with insertion or lookup queries in inventory being timed out by the huge database load we are suffering from right now. _____________________

Yes, if you're interested in the difference please refer to this thread where Adam Zaius kindly explains the difference:

Vendor issues
05-16-2005 01:28
Had the same thing happen to me with multiple purchases at Enomine. Of the four items I purchased 2 never arrived, one arrived fine and one arrived at least 10 min or so after i purchased it. I im'd the merchant and luckily they were online, came to the store and got the items for me.
Thank you Munchflower you really bent over backwards and were very patient altho I'm sure you are losing your mind with all the vendor issues right now. Iantha |

I just want to add that if you dont get a response to your IMs to the creator, try again after a day or so.
IMs to email gets capped at 15, i think, and with the problems lately, I get my IMs capped every time I log in after sleeping, so there is no way for me to get back to all, since i am actually not getting all messages. So don't blame the seller if you dont get a response. Popular merchants will simply often not get your message. Just try again. And keep it at one message with as much details as possible, instead of 4-5 short messages. ![]() |

I've bought several things..and got the message saying "you paid so and so $$" but I have no item......I relog... no item..... just wondering if this has happpened to anyone else? Thus far, no ones responded to my IMs as to a refund or a replacment of the items. Nope, it's not just you. On the plus side, choosing to buy some things twice instead of bugging the creator is very quickly breaking me of my shopping habit. ![]() And yes I know I could IM them but to me it's just not time efficient. The one time I bothered when I was new they had to look up in their account, say they didn't get it, question my integrity, then realize they did get the money they just didn't see it, gripe about LL & apologize as if it was their fault I didn't get it. I'm too socially inept to deal with all that. So now I only buy things I like enough to buy twice. lol.-Sun (no real point to Me tooing...I'm just bored, can't log in & it beats griping) ![]() |

Hi Philip,
Thanks for taking the time to answer the thread yourself. Do you mean that the items that were not delivered are queuing up somewhere and we'll eventually get them, or that some inventory insertion queries "timed out" and are now totally lost, meaning we need to get in touch with our sellers? Thanks in advance and best regards, Stephane Zugzwang _____________________

I would also like to clear up that this is not just with vendors, but with ANYTHING that you can pay into. I play a lot of games in SL and lost at least 1k because of this.
Games I have had problems with... Tringo Bingtris Blingo Yahtzee I would have tried more, but I was stuck in Le Cadre all night Couldn't TP anywhere else. I really wish that certain things would be taken care of before LL gets ahead of themselves. Lilly |

Ditto for SLBoutique.com. We'll clean up this mess as soon as we possibly can. Its quite frustrating for us, as we're being affected in two ways... (1) deposits and (2) delivery. :-| We will have to see if Philip saying this problem "will be fixed" means from here or out, or if the problems will be restored. Like Zeppi, we also keep a completely separate transaction record from Second Life, so if you're having problems, let us know and we'll figure it out. Regards, -Flip _____________________

It's happening all over. I'm doing the best I can to replace or refund items, but I can't log in like so many other people, and when I do, I crash and lose a bunch of IM's. It's very frustrating for a lot of us, we thank you for your patience.

I've bought several things..and got the message saying "you paid so and so $$" but I have no item......I relog... no item..... Example : I bought a texture from textures unlimited...took my money, I got the folder, bought another one, took my money, no folder. This has not only happened to textures unlimited..but also at pixeldolls..I know it's not their faults...just wondering if this has happpened to anyone else? Thus far, no ones responded to my IMs as to a refund or a replacment of the items. I have that happen on occasion too. As long as I can track that someone made a payment in my SL account history or on my SL Boutique account history I will always give them replacement items. For me this happens more with vendors that with prim boxes. When I check the vendor that people have problems with everything seems ok, but I know that the asshat server can be wonky at times. The odd thing is that I have only had that problem once and that was probably well over a year ago when i was a noob I bought something from either Torrid or Mistress (i cant remember) and never got the item and for some reason never bothered asking them about it either. I'm one of those weird people who hates returning things RL. I will buy something realize it doesnt fit right or I don't like it and keep it forever. I can only assume that my reasoning for this is sheer laziness on my part. Since then I can't say that I have bought anything and not received it. But, that is not to discredit people who have this happen regularly. _____________________

Apologies. I agree this is totally lame and frustrating. We are going to get to zero chance of failure on inventory transfers as quickly as we can. Also we can look at logging and case where failures occur and passing this data on to everyone.

As a business Owner in SL I have spent a great deal of time in corcern that this is happening to our customers but they are not contacting me so it can be resolved. An accurate listing of these failures would be a wonderful thing. ![]() |

I try not to lose site that we're talking over a failure rate under (total guesswork) about 1 in 25000, if not much lower. The problem is now that I'm running a high transaction rate business, it becomes burdensome. Can you answer, is there any record or log of these failures, and will they be compensated for? Or will we as business owners have to take care of these issues ourselves? Another two things I'd love to have... somewhere we can "ping" somehow to tell whether the grid is up (you forgot to update secondlife.com/status/ for a while, and screenscraping is lame too <grin> / state of the grid. If sales are failing, have a master kill switch to stop sales on the grid, but let us continue to log in. I've found the master kill switch on SLBoutique.com to be invaluable at these times... people can do anything but "Buy". ![]() Regards, -Flip _____________________

The idea of reporting heavy DB load to the site is a great one, and I'll get together and see if that is something we can do. I agree that a switch that disabled transfers under heavy load would be smart.
I don't think we will be able to recover detailed records of failed transfers, but we are looking at whether we can capture the exact time intervals of heavy load during which failures may have occurred. We could conceivably publish that as a way of bracketing transacts you would need to be concerned about (by looking at your money transactions history). _____________________

There should be a command which disables the inventory button worldwide temporarily. This would probably help in narrowing down the exact cause of problems as well. |

Yes, I bought three things at Pixeldolls (Chartreuse) on May 15th - only the third one turned up, just got (delayed) transaction notifications for the first two.
I've IM'd Neph but I can quite understand that she may well be stuck outside the login queue too, can barely get in myself... Ah well, I'm sure these growing pains will be fixed eventually..... |

Your attitude is commendable, Dee. Philip, thanks for the response.
Some information I've uncovered while tearing through the SLBoutique.com transaction log and comparing to SL, while talking with my customers who emailed me saying deposits failed (after this, I'm calling it a night). We had 3 deposits completely fail, so given our total amount of deposits on Saturday and Sunday, this was a small percentage of the total deposits. Under the depositors account in World ---> Account History, all three had a messaging saying "Payment -(amount deposited)" but no information on who was paid anywhere in their account history. Typically it would denote a payment to Commerce Leader, the account set up to be SLBoutique's fund holder. Commerce Leader had no record of the payment incoming either in world or on the the account section of SecondLife.com. I'm not sure if it would be possible to write a script to tear through the past few days of transactions to look for this scenario - but I hope this info helps other merchants trying to solve problems. This is a similar to scenario to what may occur with a vendor as well. Regards, -Flip _____________________
