I loved the shark with the frick'n lazer beam attached to his head! As a side issue, sure, some people will get more Linden love than others. But that's to be expected. As in the real world some people are simply 'better' and do more for the game than others. Those people will be supported. However, the gap between 'nobody' and 'somebody' (as others define it) is verrrry thin. Anyone can make the change by applying their brains and skills and time to the world. Of course, you need some of those items to be able to make this change, and if you don't have them there's bugger all anyone can do to help you make up for it is there?

From: Michi Lumin I should have gotten a Viva -and- a Livehelp t-shirt so far :\ ... Other people have, I haven't. I assume I'll probably never see them.
(so much for being favored.) The Team 2 Live Help shirts were sent out this week, I apologize for the delay in their shipping.

For future reference, I've posted the transcript to the Steamboy trailer and you can find it here: In a time of fantasy and wonders, In a world of man and machines, A young inventor receives a mysterious gift that holds the power to change the world... forever. Now, a merciless enemy will do anything to stop this daring hero... and steal the source of ultimate power. Now, prepare to go full steam ahead -- From the director of Akira: STEAMBOY.And historically, yes Aimee did say: Aimee Weber: i wonder what percentage of previews include the phrase "in a world"followed by: Oz Spade: In a world where worlds are in worlds of worlds that maintain worlds in worlds, there can be only one man that can save all these worlds...related to: Torrid Midnight: "in a world where women only wore indigo wings and where men dressed in hot pants"and the obligatorical SL nod: Marcos Fonzarelli: IN A WORLD WITHOUT SHINYAnyone else want credit where credit is due?

From: Jessica Robertson Which is it? Do they not exist or do you like them because they are a bunch of core developers? You can't have it both ways, in the same post no less!
Blaze, I agree with Aimee, I think you just like to start drama. I was going to point this out as well. Oh, the irony in blaze proclaiming that the thread has been highjacked (by people other than himself) yet admits to using the thread for "FIC baiting". Umm, would that be highjacking by way of trolling? Trolling is said to be verboten in the forum guidelines. I guess it's ok to breach those guidelines if one is on a crusade. I would like to speak directly to blaze here on the "self-important people" statement. Just because I take issue with someone labeling, compartmentalizing and falsely accusing a set of people, imaginary or not, does not mean I think I belong to that group. I am not FIC by your definition. I rarely speak to any Lindens, I cashed out some L$ for USD for the first time ever last week (first time in nearly 2 years) I sell very little, am currently selling nothing, and so on and so forth. Blaze, by your assumption, any one who defends against what they perceive to be false claims against any person(s), must be a "self important person" who thinks you are speaking of them. Wrong. Dead wrong. There are people in this world who see things objectively and respond to shaky, non-proven allegations and labels, regardless of what direction they are aimed. If, in my presence, my neighbor labels my other neighbor, and I tell the offending neighbor he is being silly, does that mean I think he is speaking to me too? No. It means I think that if you are parading around the neighborhood (as Chip so aptly put it) "naked with a lampshade on each ass cheek singing show tunes", pointing fingers, repeating the same tired mantra over and over, don't expect me to sit there silently. Even if I don't feel I may fit the label of the supposed group you are trying. Does Michael Jackson's lawyer think that people are calling him a child molestor too? Carry on with your little trolling game. You will continue to not be taken seriously, just like your more magniloquent partner-in-crime, Prokofy Neva. It's the ultimate in irony in my eyes. Some folks complain about groups, yet they are in fact the ones creating them through devisive labeling. In the end, I think that it's not so much the specific topic that drives most people crazy. Someone could talk about the peanut crop in Georgia for months on end too, people would probably get sick of it and let them know. How the person who has been dwelling on the topic reacts to being told he is starting to sound like a broken record, will most likely determine how they are dealt with in the future. If they sulk, continue to fixate on the issue, and then eventually claim to be "baiting the FIC" (the latter apparently because the world didn't change for them), they will likely be met with skepticism at the very least. We know you think there are favored SLers. Most of us agree to a point. We know you want LL to change the forums for you. Get a new topic once in a while. Maybe pick something tangible this time.

Why would anyone care..seriously? If you want to talk to or befriend Lindens, go to it. Say hello when you see them. Be a good citizen, or at least an interesting, non-abrasive one. Be creative. Hang out and make friends with folks that you like and respect. Don't hang out with folks that you don't like or respect. I never understood cliques in high school, and still don't. I was friends with rednecks, jocks, brains and, of course, stoners. They were all just people. Some were wealthy, some were poor, some were popular, some were loners, some were outgoing, some were shy, some were funny and some weren't. Do you really care if a certain Linden knows a certain customer and happens to like talking to them, or vica-versa? Do you care that some folks spend alot of time amongst a close-knit group of friends and don't do alot socially outside of that circle? Just hang with who you want to hang with and be a good person. Sure, there are folks I envy in SL for thier knowledge, wit, creativity, talent, charm and/or attitude. But I respect them, not resent them. I go about my business and they go about thiers. I've only met a rare few people on SL that I would even consider slightly snobbish or elitist, and that could very well have been a misconception due to circumstances. Most that would be considered FIC by blaze or others, are just folks that know other folks and hang out with them. They aren't pulling my strings, nor are they pulling yours. They don't impede my fun, nor do they interfere with yours. So really...who cares. Relax, enjoy, and be your own person, in your own unique way. Did I do good? Will you release my family and have LL stop triple billing my credit card now?

Wanna Be Elitists

I find it amusing when somebody mentions an elite group , and somebody else, let's call them person L, says stuff clearly indicating they think they are part of the well known group that's being called an elite, and the truth of the matter is that no one has ever heard of person L except when they are tooting their own horn in a thread about elites, and that if there is an elite priveleged group, the one person you know is not in it is big mouthed sarcastic person L.

That makes you a "wanna be" and a "fan(person)". Don't respond to rants! You may be told you're the one ranting and to take it to another website!

Relax, enjoy, and be your own person, in your own unique way. I think feeling unappreciated, unloved, unpopular and unnoticed.. or at least playing the persona that feels that way, IS fun for some people. Call them drama queens or perpetual victims (I prefer Schleprocks, personally. "Wowsy wosy woo woo" but I get the impression they like the attention of being constantly put-upon. The other alternative is that they simply can't stand anyone getting attention or kudos but them, and if they do, it must be badmouthed and made to seem less important. Remember... "It is not enough that I succeed.. My friends must fail." Or, to misguote Melvin Udall (sp?) "You're not pissed because you have it so bad, you're pissed because others have it so good."

Gawed yall READ THIS to help calm down or just click Teh Brace Blog in my sig. 1) It was just a virtual party 2) I was looking forward to attending 3) I couldnt go, so I was peeved I rarely post as it is (Aimee knows why!) and I certainly don't ever post when I'm peeved. But I'm human and I did. Oops Oh Well. I'm over it. HOWEVER I'm still peeved at LL for the following: (a) Mentioning the event in the Newsletter without any reference to time or place (b) Mentioning the same & indicating it would be posted in events (it never was) (c) Because of the above, I asked a Linden when and where the event would be, and I was told NW in Waterhead. However I was still not told what time. (d) I went over there a few hrs before the event to check it out, and again someone asked what time it was going to be - we wre finally told 7pm-ish No mention at this time that it was all going to be taking place in the Preview (f) My noob friend had popped over to the location as well later on (less than an hour before the event) while I was offline and told me she had spoken to a Linden who was making last minute touches for the event there. Again no mention it was NOT going to be in that actual location Basically I'm not as much peeved about missing the party, as how wierd all of this was. I mean just tell a sistah the info and I can go from there. Nobody likes to anticipate being able to attend an activity and then find out its been a no-go all along.

Hey Brace, thanks for clearing up your mood and I think your position is understandable (also, we've all posted when mad and realised we overstated our position, so no worries).
Yeah, I think things were a bit of a rush with the party. O well, they'll do better next time I hope!
If you check my blog you can get a link to a bunch of pictures from the real world one though!

Excellent pics, Pirate! Thanks for sharing them. Love the "Philip in a Mature Sim" one. I will forever have visions of that Irish Pub next to a Chinese massage parlor at the end of an alley with 20 garbage dumpsters. Sometimes RL is as surreal as SL.
