was really lookin forward to the party tonite at Virtual Varnish
so we are all hanging there in Waterhead waiting for the festivities to begin come to find out its in the Preview ok COOL whatever but some of us can never get previews to run at all or even decently enough to walk around much less party in hope yall have fun  Exclude much? _____________________

If I wasn't at work, and was there on Live Help, I would have been happy to walk you through the process of installing & running the preview; if you can run SL, you can run the preview. Exclude much? I'm at work. Some people live in areas of the world where they are asleep. Others have RL engagements or whatnot. Can't satisfy everyone all the time. There's no point stressing about it, Brace. But tell you what - catch me tomorrow online during the evening in game, and I'll help you get preview up. _____________________

It was announced by a bunch of dots being in one place on the preview grid.
Initially, a bunch of Lindens. People started teleporting in after seeing green dots, until the sim filled up at 27. (because it's a 2.26ghz test sim, one of the slower machines.) I think some people would -LIKE- there to be some secret cabal of inside users, but honestly, it exists more in the minds of those who spread the rumor, than it actually does. (which is not at all.) There are Residents, Liaisons, and Lindens. That's it. No residents have any more powers or privileges than any others. Borrowing from Torley. The FIC is fiction. |

LL wanted to show some people at a RL venue, Varnish, with people from GDC, some of the features of 1.6. They also wanted to load test 1.6. There was, and is, and will not be, any secret exclusive scheme. Sucks for the tabloid fans, but that's just how it is. |

typical FIC propaganda. Which part, the sim filling up at 27, the green dots, or the preview being public? You were able to get in, weren't you? .... What does that make you, then? ... I guess load testing and beta releases are just one big fat lie designed to piss you off. After all, 1.6 has been completed for months, right? The only POSSIBLE explanation for this is some kind of elite favoritism. Hell, the invitations probably came in the RL mail, and had gold leaf print, too. And calligraphy. Signed by Philip himself. goodness gracious. who gives a damn if there is a conspiracy of some people with others to uhhh... well.... anyway. why care? its laughable. i cannot, after watching this extremely stupid issue for quite a while on the forums, see where anyones ox is being gored at all. actually, from the posts, it appears the only conspiracy is about 4 people who are conspiring to label and accuse a whole set of people as conspirators. whew. i will now ignore any more posts that even look like it might be about this issue. this post shanghaied(sp?) me in by being improperly labeled.

when did they fix the bug that you couldn't teleport people into a sim. good bug fix but maybe it should not apply to hub sims? not only was that sim full, it was a hub sim so the rest of that 9 sim grid was inaccessible for the entire time. my concern isn't the party really, it's that this could create serious inconveniences on the real grid where a hub serves several dozen sims.
