Oh, Aimee, I believe.
Unfortunately, I have tried in the past to attempt a sincere discussion. It doesn't work. I just get a lot of idjits who either hijack my posts or start attacking me ad hominem with a bunch of very useless sarcasm. (Note: Sarcasm was funny when we were 15. After about 19, we GROW OUT OF IT)
So, why not just fight fire with fire? Hey I can by cynical and sarcastic, too! oh oh so clever!
Maybe eventually someone will get a clue and adopt the same style that penny arcade has (I've adovcated this a zillion times).
Which is:
a- A free for all forum for people to post pointless and unfunny humour and sarcasm and impolite, disrespectful debate
b- and a heavily moderated forum which must always be on topic, rational, and politely to the point.

I think people are reacting to you this way because you are making sweeping attacks against a vaguely defined group and calling upon the Lindens to act against them for undefined crimes. You are doing this with no evidence that the group exists, and if it does you present no evidence that it is a detriment to SL in general. Doesn't matter what vaguely defined group you pick to attack. You act this way, and people are going to treat you like a nutcase.

Serious discussion you want. Very well.
"I think people are reacting to you this way"
You are personalizing the discussion. If we were to be serious about this, you'd leave me and you out of it. Whether there is a problem with LL selectively favoring individuals has absolutely nothing to do with me or you.
" because you are making sweeping attacks"
Sweeping attacks? As I have been trying to say is that I have simply been responding in kind. My only attempt at being reasonable about this was on the Linden Hotline, where the attack was not sweeping at all. It was very specific and straight to the point.
"Lindens to act against them for undefined crimes."
Again, I was just kidding. Trust me, if I am serious I spend more than five minutes writing a post.
"present no evidence that it is a detriment to SL in general. "
True, I don't have any objective evidence .. but that's pretty hard. I can only point to my experience with past situations where a certain group of people get selective attention from MUD developers and how that has lead to significant grief.
"people are going to treat you like a nutcase."
Again, you're personalizing the conversation. It's this type of language which makes me say "what the f*** is the point". You clearly are trying to get your little digs in rather than seriously addressing what I have to say.
So, if that's your attempt at being sincere and serious, than I think I will just return to my 2 minute post FIC baiting, tyvm.

The truly pathetic fact is, that the truth about the so-called "FIC" is probably somewhere between what I have to say and what other people have so say.
It's a sad f***ing fact that the SL community is not intelligent enough to discuss it in a way that can get us to that truth.

So the FIC likes to exclude everyone? They just keep with their own little group and never do anything but go to FIC parties and do FIC things?
Please explain your philosophy blaze, I'm curious.

remember that scene in the wizard of oz where they meet the lion for the first time and he's all mean and fierce and pushing them around then Dorothy smacks him on the nose and he starts blubbering and says "you didn't have to hit me"? that's my favorite scene in the whole movie.

Nate, there is no FIC.
There is a group of people who get defensive when we bring up the word FIC. That's because they are self important and think therefore I must be attacking them... truly funny.
I actually like the FIC. I think they're a great bunch of core developers who cooperate and get stuff done. Very cool.
What I do not like is when LL goes near these people. LL *must* not try to select the winners and losers. Because they simply can not. They can create an infrastructure such that the meritous bubble up to the top, but when they try to pick the winners and losers..
.. well they make losers of all of us.

Nate, if you're even slightly curious why I post in a pointless and sarcastic manner, the poster of this quote is probably one of the prime examples. Discussing issues on these forums in a sincere way is completely f***ing impossible. He / She / It thinks he's winning some point. He isn't. He's just encouraging the conversation to veer off in a way that just unproductive and useless.

I dunno man.
Honestly I can say that the people I've met like Aimee Torrid Launa and others don't have an air(I prolly spelled that wrong) of importance. I mean Aimee was the first person I met in SL. I ,a newb, kinda stumbled upon her and did she kick me off the land immediately? No Did she ask me what I was doing there? No. She said Hi and just kinda started talking to me. I know what elitism looks like, I've played other games like DAoC and UO. So I know an air(Once again prolly mispelled) of importance and elitism when it's there. And trust me. It's not there.
As to LL (Which I assume means Linden Labs... taking a huge leap on that though) 'going near these people' I'm kinda iffy on that subject. I agree kinda and I disagree. But hey, I'm here to have fun. I'm use to being a loser so it really don't bother me none. =D *snaps* Is it ere?!... hmmm

Yeah, I find Aimee is pretty nice which was why I broke down and tried to reply in a reasonably thoughtful manner.
But yeah, I know what you mean. I've got a pretty low IQ so what do I know.

And there goes the thread.
Clearly this whole thread was a FIC sponsored attempt to divert us from the truth.

On a side note: I'm not being sarcastic... I really thought that was cool.
But anyway, This entire thread was a hijack at the beginning blaze. It was about poor Brace not getting into the party =( not about members of an elite part of SL intent on making themselves known as the elite of society and not about griefing each other about unimportant stuff.
I mean come on! Even if you can do anything in SL... it's still a game... right? =)
So I think we should all send each other happy furry fun mail and drink the night away, I'm buyin.

Yes, I am personalizing because *I* am discussing this with *YOU*. I think the evidence is the key. Lay it out and *I* will take *YOU* seriously. Name names, and explain the incidents where favoritism took place. An intelligent fellow like yourself should be capable of this. If you ever get any paypack for pointing out truth rather than hints and casting aspursions, then *I* will personally be the first to defend *YOU* ***edited*** OH! and thanks for calling me nice
