There must be a problem or something. Unless the Lindens are having too much fun playing in 1.1 to let anyone else in.:(

No, I just tried again. Still just getting the not open for business message.

I've downloaded and installed today's version, but I'm still getting the message that SL is only open to employees.

Strange...everything I got said it was only going to be available until 6pm PST.

I was on 1.1 at 1-something PST.

Very nice, btw...didn't get a chance to try out the scripts, but the land was great, the shiny feature was unbelievable, and the loading of objects was extremely fast...normally takes 5 seconds or so for a medium-to-large building to fully rez in on my system as I'm flying from area to area, but this was just schveeeeeet.

No word on when it will be up yet. My sources say it's down for now, but i don't think it's been cancelled.

No dice. Mine is a fresh download. The server is still down.

Oops sorry gang... our mistake we left things locked out after our users tests. Thanks for the patience - 1.1 grid should be reenabled for all users in a few minutes.

Also, regarding damped movement with llSetPos() - totally agree with the desire for both versions - we are adding a new scripting call that allows you to choose the behavior. I'm not sure as to whether this will get into 1.1 - but this is the right design. Thanks for the feedback.

For those with heavy crashing - we think we got many of those problems fixed... should be a new build up tommorow to test.

We moved "save to disk" to the file menu... "save texture as".

Didn't remove the feature - it was just a very confusing button for newbies.

As far as the newest test goes, I find it quite humorous.

I'm one of the people who has been stricken by the "reverse compatibility" issue, I crash a minute into the game.

What makes this funny? Today I got the latest ATi drivers which came with a "VPU restore" feature, which fixes your computer if you have a computer-freezing crash due to the video card being broken. SL has had video card breaking crashes on me maybe once a month. This latest test has had it happen every single crash. It's really funny that this feature I only needed once a month is now needed every minute I log into SL. Just in the nick of time, eh?

Update: Just got the bug again (I don't mind the crashing since the new fixer fixes it pretty fast in comparison to the age old reboot) and have to say it's the prettiest bug I've ever had. This time, it caused my entire monitor to get random colored fuzzy squares everywhere. Very bad crash, but very pretty :D

Okay, I only crashed once during the times I was in the 1.1 preview yesterday and today. That's a big improvement over the five times I crashed during the last preview when I was only in about an hour.

However, I found that I could not rate anyone and could not left-mouse click on anything. This happened both yesterday and today. I'm the only person I've heard mention this problem.

And I know this is nothing new at this point, but it still amazes me that Philip posts on forums to let us know when the beta test is open and to explain small feature changes.

Thanks Beryl! My best days are when I get to goof off in SL.

The left/right mouse behavior is by design in 1.1. Lft-click now equals action: grab or touch. Rgt-click always creates the pie menu. So when playing jetball (or something like that) you can madly lft click all over the place and you wont get everything getting selected and pie menus everywhere.

The crashing we will try and fix today. Huge bugs found, so should get better.

Whenever I alt-tabbed out of SL, it was fine. But when I tried to alt-tab back in it crashes... :(

Another little thing: When the "Ripple water" feature is on, water goes through land it odd ways...

That's what I thought at first, but fortunately no, I did not suffer from a snowcrash. Snowcrashes are black and white, 1s and 0s. This was more like a Rainbowskittlescrash with 32-bit depth colors :D

Stand Up and Release Keys buttons MUST have options to move somewhere else. I always keep my map up there! Please let me move them somewhere else.

It might be a delayed-effect variety of snow crash. We'll know for certain if someone posts that Dave has been found in a catatonic state. :)
