to me, the feted inner core are those people the lindens like and will bend over backward to accomodate. the only real qualification for belonging seems to be knowing how to keep your damn mouth shut and how to not flaunt your status.
The fetid, on the other hand, are those who've publically embarassed the lindens by proving themselves a favourite or by openly insulting them without due cause. there's a very clear line between helping them stay on solid tracks of good customer relations & useful software development and calling them stupid liars. people who cross that line too often and too far probably do, and should, get blacklisted. community works both ways. i'm a card carry member of the fetied inner core and am quite happy with it. i get to hang with the feted & fetid and only have to pay one set of dues. i understand that some people are purists and will retain their individual memberships. that's fine for them; i like them all too much to be judgemental. _____________________

Nine posts and 34 mintues later, Ingrid Ingersoll seems to have created the "fetid inner core" via a misspelling in this post. (I've read a post somewhere in which Ingrid acknowledges that it was a misspelling, but I can't find it at the moment. No way... i know what fetid means. I didn't know what feted meant so I assumed Prokofy had made a spelling mistake, since he's wrong about lots of other stuff.  |

If they are sill around in a couple of years, they will then be the new midbie's... a year or two more and they will practically be farty-fetid-and-frayed oldbies too! Since I started in December 2004 I guess I should try to bypass midbee altogether and pull myself up by my own bootstraps and climb the ladder of success on the backs of the FIC. I'm thinking spike heeled boots would probably work best. I ran across free "Feted Inner Core" t-shirts the other day. I suggested to the provider that a better distribution system might be to hang them from a clothesline allowing destitute newbies a chance to creep in and steal them like depression era tramps. It could be the new money tree; they are so last week after all. |
