I DO play SWG. But your point isn't valid. The socializing aspects of SL as you said is only PART of the Sl experience. There is much more going on here. So I can shudder at all the geeky avatar sex, and still enjoy the world.

Well..I love to roleplay..I don't take game too serious..I just like a little respect..I love to meet friends roleplay relationships..and treat people with respect..this is my SecondLife and I like to roleplay and use every tool available within the game at the right times..I may be considering joining a group because there are alot of nice people and groups like WIKI and such..you can never have enough friends. Friends are the foundations to enjoying this Secondlife..and yes sometimes things get twisted and turned and you run into bumps in the road..and even roleplaying..emotions can sometimes get involved..but these are the risks and rewards that come along with having fun..I do respect peoples feelings and emotions and I am always up front..I am not interested in this as a real life..only a SecondLife and to enjoy everything it has to offer and never want anyone hurt by the roleplay..it is best to be up front that way everyone knows where you stand and then the friends and fun begins

At least she was up front and fair about it and -told- you that it wasn't going to work out. Regardless of her 'reasons' that should have been enough for you to realize that she didn't want to be bothered, and creating an alt to stalk her down and check up on her goings-on is just plain.... stalkerish.

I'm female. My husband is (duh) male. In the above picture, I'm on the left and he's on the right. We've 'played' these characters since 1991 in one forum or another. The gender of a person's online persona doesn't necessarily represent anything about their Real Life sexual preferences. I often put on my male avatar shape when I'm doing heavy construction, for example.

Oh..yes I know people like to roleplay different characters..I do that myself and it doesn't reflect my real life persona..I was just making a list of reasons..that really I probably shouldn't have..I was just listing some reasons why some might do it..and that was only one and I know there are many..some just like to play female characters..so do I sometimes..no matter what the reason..it's a SecondLife and your preference as to how you like to have fun...sexual preference is just that..preference. That's one of the great things about games like this..you can be who you want when you want..and try different things I have straight friends and I have gay friends..doesn't matter either way..friends are friends..it's the heart that matters

You have completely confused me Blake. First you post how you got duped by a female av who only wanted stuff and you stalked the av. Then you whined about how you couldn't understand why people would play an av different than their true sex. But now you've completely agreed with everyone's posts - and said that you understand people playing opposite genders and that you have too. So what was the whole point of this thread?

In regards to what you are saying read my quote..it was concerning a female playing a male and no where does it say I was a stalker or stalking anyone..I only mean't to list one reason why a female might want to play a male..but there are other reasons as well as stated above your inquiry. The point of the original post before it got twisted and spinned was that..some people should take into consideration that if they are going to roleplay..don't do it to decieve someone out of material things..do it to make each other happy and create a real story and or love story and just don't end it based on an understanding that I was willing to not go to the party but then she agreeing that I should go and then the next day ending it because she assumed i went on a date and telling me I should go and knowing I told her that it was a party for a friend and his group. And making a previous statement of "Don't forget your promise of buying me something nice..then telling me she didn't like that I left to go to the pary after she insisted I go...then accusing me of dating and we haven't even known each other long enough for her to even get upset because we just met even if it was a date..the bottom line is..She wanted material things and had no intention of getting to know me romantically obviously to begin with. That statement I made above was in regards to another inquiry. Don't try to twist this and spin it with generalities without explaining or interpreting each quote with links to other quotes of response.
