You will find them under the many bridges of SL. Many live in square structures made of cardboard. Some have been known to demand a toll from travelers attempting to cross the bridge...

I am a 'true' introvert...its TRUE~
I generally dont hangout anywhere in particular when I am in SL. Whenever I think of joining a group, I then remember that I will have to participate! I occsionally go to the Primtionary events - its generally agood group of creative - non-judgemental types that are having fun. I go dancing - because I don't have to have conversations - I do hang out with certain AVs from time to time...but we spend alot of time looking at our feet (what is that feature??!!) - I wish I could give you more insight or encouragement, but its really difficult if you are not looking for exchange with folks necessarily. I do most of my chatting here in the forums - mostly because I am not being visually distracted by all of the creativity. Its great to explore in SL, but when I truly think about it, I doubt that I will stay a member of the 'landed gentry' of SL and will change my membership when it comes up (I prepaid for a year). Don't get me wrong, people here are very nice, but I find that there is that connectedness that is lacking for myself. I am not sure exactly what it is, but its deinitely there or not there I should say. Not exclusive to SL either. If I don't have a particular mission - then I will lose interest. I think its better to be a programmer or scripter -- designer or builder -- in SL. My two introverted cents. Ursa _____________________

Group owned land often enough. Especially if the group and land is owned by people you've known for years outside of secondlife.
I don't think i've ever socialized in SL without being approached and the only time I ever set out ot catch peoples attention is when I pull out some of my cool, home made toys in Cordova. To make matters worse, I don't see anything either. I have no need for Linden's and would rather keep them in my hands only. ![]() |

I guess I'm an introvert, meaning I lack social skills and am generally pretty quiet, but I don't at all mind talking to people. You can probably tell I am by looking at my house. It's basically a workshop for building, with a single chair set up facing an open area. No other furniture. No sofas or fireplaces or bars or dance machines. If I'm not out in Balance testing my cars, I'm probably at home.
I used to build in Cordova, but got tired of it being overcrowded and full of interruptive scripts. So now I'm a hermit ![]() _____________________

I am very social on occasions - the difference is that I need a tremendous amount of 'down' time - time when I am not having to be social. Whereas it is an effort to e social - that doesn't mean that its not pleasant. Extroverts would be able to spend alonetime, but they would prefer the energy of being with others. Its just a difference in how one thrives/does not thrive - its not in any way an indicator that someone is 'lacking' - don't be so hard on yourself - its just more acceptable to be the life of the party... but its not bad to be the wall flower really - ![]() _____________________

Like someone said (Launa?) its the "Grown Up Kids Sandbox". Well, try it out ![]() |

You might also try the Thinkers group meetings, although lately they seem to go for the Euro time slot.
Would anyone be interested in a book club next year? |

being introverts, we don't hang out. We occasionally im each other with questions. we frequently have our own property we spend 80% of our time on with or without others.

Aleph (private sim), Waterhead, sometimes Welcome Area, IRC.
And yeah, what Rickard said, occasionaly we also run into eachother by random chance or planned meetings (i.e. our IM sessions carry over). _____________________

I've been in SL since May but I still don't feel like I fit in (Don't worry it's not a long depressing post, heh!) I don't make textures or design clothes and I don't build...I'm just an explorer...So bonding with others is tricky So tell me, where have all the outcasts gone? ![]() Good question. I'm not a joiner and am generally "alergic" to large crowds. It's just fortunate I have good neighbors and one RL friend to hang out with occasionally -- otherwise, I'd be playing solitary. Hmm... here's a thought: Most introverts stay home a good part of the time and putter around the house. Maybe you could make a traveling salesman av and go door-to-door, giving out free samples? Sure, you might get a few doors slammed in your face, but you might make some friends as well. ![]() |

/wave to Mina!!! Yeah Nimue - come over to Bragg. My neighbors have built such cool things to look at and explore. You can come and chat with me while I build stuff in my basement. You can help me catch my crow or my dog when they run away. At least my owl is well behaved. Just look for the giant Goth cracker box in the corner of the sim. You can't miss it.

Now I want to have an introvert party on my land. Um... how many introverts do you think we could fit on a 96m^2 island?

How many would want to? If you noticed, most of us invited Nimue to *our* places. So to answer your question - if the pin is somewhere really near our homes and maybe if no-one else is dancing there... nah. Forget it. ![]() |

I'd just like to point out that this thread topic may be one of the most paradoxical I've ever seen in a serious SL thread.
Any non-griefer non-minor is always welcome in Indigo. I've also compiled a bunch of landmarks of neat places to visit, and when you're doing something fun, its also an easier way to "break the ice". -Flip _____________________
