Cancelled Account

Colin Linden says there's not been one cancellation because of the changes. Well now there is, my account is paid till June so it's pending until then. Am going to sell my land in Takes if anybody's interested, maybe then I can pay for that tringo kit I borrowed money for.

When THERE.com had their major shake up back in May of 2004 it took people awhile to absorb the shock and what the changes meant to them. The cancelled accounts and moves to Second Life and other online games happened gradually over the months of May and June.

LOl I like that I for one am going to see how this all turnz out only because I really love the people I play with. If I'm too poor to go on ... then yes I'll cancel and go to a game where I'm established and reopen my accounts.... I played dark Age of Camelot for 3yrs I don't have to struggle there

And for the record, hopefully you will be proven wrong after the changes take place and will stay with SL. I'm sure you would be missed!

Probably not a good idea if you are fleeing what you think is an expensive economy. There is a lot more expensive than SL, and not nearly as interesting.

As Robin has stated, this is experimental. One good thing about the Lindens is that they are fully aware that this may *not* work and have stated that they will make additional changes if needed.

As one of the 'old timers' in SL, I have been around for a few major changes in the world. Despite the 'sky is falling' attitudes at those times, everything worked out fine. I would suggest hanging around for a bit after the changes take place and see how it works out for you before truly leaving SL.

There's major shakeup in 2004 was that they wouldn't be supporting THE GAME ANYMORE.

To be similar, LLabs would have to announce the closure of their offices.

This is muddling with the in-world economy, something you shouldn't be relying on anyway.

Alot of people think their entire stipends are being cut in half. I think LL needs to get the word out that it's not the case.

and how is this going to destroy your game experience tomorrow? Can you still see your friends? yes. Can you still build to hearts content? yes. Can you go jump naked into the dancers at your favorite club? yes.

What exactly about the stipend bonus or event sponsorship so DEFINES your enjoyment of the game?

Are you just buying stuff all the time? or are you using event sponsorship to fund your land tier? I am struggling to find real rationalizations for the absurd level of hyperventilation going on.

As I've said elsethread, this is no more than what they did exactly a year ago... and SL keeps on growing...

I agree Ingrid. I asked Robin to clarify this, as the mis-information is causing alot of heartache for people.

I think that's the case as well.

And if some do know the truth and still act like their nubbin's been cut off, well, that's just annoying.



P.S. To Asha ... I hope you reconsider leaving SL. Let's all sit back and see how this plays out. You'll be missed too.
