Look, if he were trying to escape from an organized crime cartel after accidentally killing their Don's only son in a barfight, that would be one thing. Putting it off as merely a "crap situation" would be manly, and cutting you off would probably have been a sweet gesture, an attempt to keep you safe.

But just not knowing how to deal with the fact that you have a kid? And using the phrase "a crap situation" to refer to you and your kid?

Apparently flattery isn't his strongpoint either.

Willow, you are bright, witty, and very sweet. Don't ever give up on finding that one man made for you, because he will show up when you wasn't even looking. The guy left and it was his loss totally. My policy has always been, if he leaves it is over forever. If he wants to talk about it, there is a chance. I have always told myself that things happen for a reason. Ok I am NOT bringing drama into the forums, I just simply am going to tell you something and would like an opinion, I need to see if its just ME that has the opinion I do...

Ok... SO around 6 mths ago, my on/off boyf of 2yrs give or take a few weeks, decided one night, he was going to drop me off home then not speak to me again, he didn't reply to my texts, didn't answer my calls and after deciding I wasn't going to run after him and beg, he never bothered again... UNTIL YESTERDAY...

I get a text saying:

I don't expect you to understand why I disappeared but I had to escape from a crap situation in the only way I knew how, emotional stuff was never my strongest point. I appreciate it may not seem normal but i'm not sure talking about it will have much point now. Hope your well. Simon.

Now...

Is that acceptable?? I mean REALLY after 6ish months of no contact???

Oh and BTW the 'crap' situation is the fact I have a daughter and could not be at his beckon call every time he wanted to see me, given the fact he lived 15 mins drive from me and of course, he lived in a one bedroomed flat, which meant I couldn't take her to stay over with me, I can't drive and it cost me fecking £20 to get there and back to see him.. oh and the fact that her dad is still around, which of course he always will be... and he KNEW I had a daughter when he came onto me, as well he was my boss, kinda....

*breathes*

Opinions please, I am not looking for sympathy, empathy or any crap talk, just wanted to get a few views

Willow... you are very nice, good looking, intelligent and fun. There is NO excuse for him treating you this way. You don't need a bum like that and can do so much better.

My opinion is that he did you the biggest favor of your life by leaving you. You don't need to get stuck with a loser like that anyway baby.

Keep your chin up, there are nice guys out there. I am sure you will find the one for you.

Western culture doesn't do men any favors. We're taught to hide our emotions, not cry, be tough, blah blah blah... as a result a lot of men never get to know themselves very well and don't know how to handle difficult emotions. They usually cover it up with the tough guy act... and it's just that, an act. The more macho a guy acts, the more emotionaly immature he probably is. Get yourself a sensitive emotional man. He'll know himself a lot better, and he'll have been dumped so many times by women chasing the macho idiots that he'll be a lot more willing to weather the rough patches
