From: Helen Dayton What GameID/CPIDs? I came into Air Warrior III late (July 9 but my husband (CPID Zeb Handle Zebedee, or Rusty in early versions) played AWII and earlier versions of AW for some time before that. My main concern in those days was the cost of playing and the phone bills!!! Hmm..can't remember my AW I, II & III names. But in Aces High, I think my last one was ItsPoet. Just talking about it makes me want to sign up for it again. I suck, but I love Turn and Burn dogfights. I wish Aces High would lower their monthly fees and advertise more. Might get alot more users and make for even funner threeway battles.

Im gonna count text based games, ok? Ok, I consider Neopets the first game I played (meyer1991), then I played Conquest, which is on Funauthority.com (I was always Athens) then I played Spacefed (meowcalania). Those were my text based games, and were also my first games Then, I moved to one or two 3D games. I played Runescape for 2 weeks (Foofoo15), then I stayed in the single player genres, like Age of Empires, The Sims (not online). Then I discovered the wonderful world of Second Life. I played SL for 3 months, got bored somehow, quit for a month, and then I came back, scared all of the friends that still played (a ton of them stopped, and it made me pretty sad). Then, I started rebuilding my Second Life, took the 1024 I had, and built a castle house. Then, I headed to Cordova, met Paulix DeGroot, and he moved in with me, then when he had troubled on some table or something, he called for help from Asmo (Asmodeus Kerensky) and I met him (now an excellent friend). Then I moved me and Paulix to the snow sim, Loon, where we started to build a house. Paulix got addicted to WoW, and I only saw him every now and then. Then, I deleted our house, and set up X-15 Vehicles, which I absolutely loved. Then, a friend of mine said he was gonna stop playing, and I met Meatwad Extraordinaire at the good-bye party. Then he built a tower of sorts at my store, and about a month later, me, Meat and another friend of mine began searching for a giant piece of land for Lunitrax, which was supposed to be a giant space station/amusement park/ shopping center. We found a piece of land, but didnt have the tier, so I called on Asmo to come help us out, he had a ton of tier, and I had to sell X-15 , but we got our plot . From there, we began building Lunitrax, but got bored halfway through, and deleted the thing. Meat built a casino on a 1024 we bought across the river from our plot (dubbed the mainland) and by now we had a nicely sized group, but we were too cheap when we group bought Lunitrax, and just recycled my X-15 group. Since the group was still named X-15 Vehicles, we wanted a name change, and had a lengthy IM session over it, and finally decided on "On The Edge of Chaos". And I think I just explained my entire Second Life so far... whoops . I do that sometimes... but that's my history!

I used to spend my hours and big money at a local bar playing NTN Trivia. If you can read and almost even think, you can get points. So it is a good sobriety test. If you miss a bunch of questions in a row, you need to be cut off. Now that I think about it, if I could have the money back from all those nights, I could have my own a couple of sims and not even worry about it paying for itself. Then again, that was before the days of home ownership.... grrr... time to go back to the apartment!

From: Ghoti Nyak I think that about covers it. I should hope so! Dates and everything? Now you've gone and done it; I need to delve into my own Swiss-cheese-for-a-memory and figure out what I've been playing. Here's an attempt: 1992-1996 LambdaMOO, a smattering of MUSHes, and Cybersphere (a lovely little cyberpunk-themed MUD) 1999-2001 EverQuest 2001-2002 Anarchy Online 2002-2003 Earth & Beyond 2003-2004 Asheron's Call 2, Anarchy Online again, about two days of Shadowbane (ick!) 2004 Uru Live beta, Saga of Ryzom beta, Risk Your Life beta (yes, it was a good year for playing betas ) Late 2004 City of Heroes October 2004 Second Life November 2004 Anarchy Online yet again February 2005 World of Warcraft Oh, the things I'll do when I'm waiting for SL to come back online and I don't want to work.

Been in SL in various avies regularly since "Black Friday" 2004, although one avie was born in Feb. 2004. Came looking for a Thereian MIA. *pokes a pink dwaggie* Didn't dwaggy's SL name, got frustrated that every time I came into SL, it went to nighttime and I could see shit. Left.
Was in There from early Dec 2003 - Black Friday 2004 on a daily basis. Irregularly through the fall of 2004, sold my shit off in time for my account to expire. THEN I realized the dumb bitch could sit there for another $5.00 USD. She's naked, got, about 300T (that's what? 30L?) and other than quest balloons and two card tables, she's not got a single possesion in the Thereian world. D'oh!
Before that, I was afraid of VR worlds. I was afraid I'd get addicted. Didn't know what There was. 2 min. in I was hooked. If they'd not released that stupid panic-inducing memo, I'd still be there rather happy, ignorant of the thoroughly satisfying possibilities of SL.
Thanks Nala for impregnating my mind w/the possibilities of SL and thanks Phil Linden for making a truly engrossing place!

Played Anarchy online once... died within a few seconds, never played again.
But finally someone created a game around what I do best, talking and spending money, and here I am... Wewt.

Twilight Lands, sort of precursor to EQ type games. I left because the mods allowed their sig others/friends more power than normal characters, and most of them abused it. Ultima Online, full beta and then for 3 or 4 years after. I left when they started allowing players to become "mayors" and the like. I still think UO had one of the best advancement systems. A very customizable skillset. Level grinding sucks, UO had no levels and I still respect it for that. Everquest, beta, then the subsequent grinding. Spawn camping is ridiculous and I left after a few months mostly because of it. How that game is so successful is one of the great mysteries of the universe and I have a feeling I don't want to know the answer... Asheron's Call, beta tested, then left. Never got it, and it seemed like just another cookie cutter mmorpg. Infantry Online, fun little futuristic wargame from Sony, still going I guess. I got sick of the 1337 5p33k. Too many kids. WWII Online, tried to play, the performance was abhorrent. First game I ever returned. Best Buy griped a bit, but I told them it was unplayable, and they gave in after I persisted. Motor City Online, great concept, poor execution and too many teens figuring out every exploit. Was hard to be proud of being a skilled driver when punks could ruin it in a second. Neverwinter Nights, loved it, don't know why I don't play anymore to be honest. I had my own shard for a while. The scripting was very modular and easy to understand. I have a harder time with lsl. The Sims Online, loved the offline version, hated the online version, although I did meet some friends that I still keep in touch with. Pizza and maze grinding is for the birds and the economy became so whacked out it was sick. Left to beta test There and Second Life. There, I was treated rudely about 4 or 5 times in the first couple hours. My new PC came in a few days and I wandered over to the SL beta Second Life. Still here, that pretty much says it all. I fell in love with it within the first hour of flying around. I was shocked when Jeff Linden came up to me on my 2nd or 3rd day and asked me questions about my gaming history and what I thought of SL. No Prokofy, that does not make me starstruck, feted, or a fanboi, it simply means that I was and still continue to be amazed at their accessiblity versus all the other online games I have tried. It just continues to get better now with the new features in 1.6. I have to agree with Blue Linden, this is the most excited I have seen the community as a whole in a long time. World of Warcraft, fun, graphically beautiful, but I must confess, I don't play much. Seems like another grinder. Chase the carrot boys and girls. I am disappointed that Blizzard chose to incorporate levels, although the professions and secondary skills are cool.

lol I'll play the nostalgia game.
SWG: Nibloch Dipra & MayDay GTH: Tochira Eve: Minodus
I've played: PristonTale & Project Entropia for ages and I cant remember my usernames.
never play Project Entropia btw, its a major scam. Its like SL but in a more controlled environment, controlled asin everything costs money and you cant do a fraction as much as here. Example: gun ammo costs money and some guns fire USD$0.03/second.

From: Sophie Steptoe Six years in Ultima Online.
After experiencing SL, I could never go back. LOL me too. UO for about 6 yrs. It was the best "fighting" game imo. Also tried Everquest, Asherons Call (1 & 2), Star Wars Galaxies, Project Entropia, Earth and Beyond. Quite frankly, I dont think I will never go back to another "fighting" game. I love SL, the world and everything thats there in it.

Here's a list (semi chronological) of my MMO past Everquest - Balthur Hruthgar on Firiona Vie (and various alts on other servers) (2001-2004) Star Wars Galaxies - Voivod V'jarn on Starsider (2003-2004) City of Heores - Nightgaunt on Virtue (2004) World of Warcraft - Oderus on Silverhand (2004-present) In between some of those times I'd tried out a few other games....Anarchy Online, There, a few others I didn't quite like....even played Vampire: the Masquerade: Redemption for a bit (not an MMO technically, but was online) As you can see, except for There, SL is quite a change from what I'm used to, and a refreshing one at that. I got tired of the whole "grind" feeling I got from the others. I've been building avatars like a mofo too (my favorite part of any MMO has always been character creation )

As far as social MMO's go, I've played Active Worlds and Cybertown.
As far as... all categories of MMO games go, I've played just about everything. Ultima Online for three years on and off (my favorite... besides SL,) Anarchy Online, City of Heroes, Lineage II, Everquest, Everquest II, World of Warcraft, Dark Age of Camelot, Final Fantasy XI, Star Wars Galaxies, Planetside, Ryzom, Ragnarok... even delving into Puzzle Pirates.
