For some of us, we just log in here for shits and giggles. Don't start taxing ME because you don't want to use YOUR cash but you want to spend it. I really can't believe you actually believe that you are justified in taking my cash to enjoy yourself for free. You honestly astound me more with every post you make.

When Second Life becomes full of people like you, and Philip bows to that kind of pressure, then I will leave and you can all wallow in your own shit, shaking your virtual bootys at the Clubs safe in the knowledge that you didnt have to pay a L$10 entrance fee to help out the host because you got the world economy changed to finance your greed.

I am not the one that complained about the current System. And your statement that you do not care about others needs or wants, only that you have your own Sim is in itself a form of Greed of not acknowledging the wants and needs of the many. Money has to come from Community and Government to fund a Budget to alocate Funding one way or the other. Those that call it welfare, so be it; but reality also dictates that it is a necessity to get one started out in life of those that have little. Everything that is discussed about Secondlife is Reality, because in Reality the people have needs.

On a personal note

Um I have my own sim, and its nothing to do with greed, and I DO care what happens to other ppl, as I have a lot of friends that this will affect, but simply making 340958349057345 threads on it and repeating the same stuff over and OVER is only gunna make the Lindens think we are a bunch of tards, I think the state of the forums needs looking at.. and YES that coming from a troll

You knew you were becomming a part of a Community when you joined. If you want your own Virtual World without Social interaction with a real Community, I suggest "Never Winters Night" or something in relation to it, until you can make your own Virtual World without help from Linden Labs. I guess we all have needs.

Well, see, now I agree with you about people like Blake fitting your original description. Not only does he want us to finance his freeloading, but he uses crass vulcan sayings to justify it. He absolutely and truly believes that the rest of us OWE him a living out of our cash.

My point to you was, that apart from the people that think we positively owe them a living, they are not parasites just because they choose not to create content or host.

Blake and his imagined 'the many' ARE parasites. And the kind of people I truly hate. But at the same time, I know plenty of residents who log in, have a bit of fun and log back out. They don't expect handouts from LL or us so they can have a good time. They don't expect to buy stuff from the shops financed by someone else because they dont want to use their own money.. they don't expect anything. They are not the problem. People like Blake are the problem.

However, I may be naive, but I really dont think that those are 'the many', even of those that don't 'contribute'. Hence my original post.

The Community isn't my way, it's everyones way. I may not agree with everyones way, but; logically I have to concede to the overall benefit of the Community, taking into consideration the needs of the many. No one likes Taxes, however; it is a necessity of an Economy and fact of both lives.

And we're referring to a hypothetical system of taxation that people like Blake there think we should have... where people like me who quietly build on our land should pay for people like him to go clubbing for free.

This 'community' is nothing more than a lot of people who log into the same world. That doesnt mean they want to interact with each other, play together nicely or do the same thing. It means I have to be here to play with the tools I want to play with. I don't care if you live, die or go clubbing, as long as you arent taxing me to do it when all I want to do is play on my sim.

You can talk to me all you want about the many and what they want. I DONT CARE. I dont play for the many. I pay my way. I pay lots, thank you. But I pay it to do what I want to do. Not what you want to do.

I only see the reality of which is to come, unless there is another Solution; I am all ears. And in Reality you are already being taxed by Tier Fees, the determination of weather further taxing is a necessity based on the Economical output of funding is an issue that Linden Labs has to evaluate.

You know Blake if you want to play social economicist, there is a group who support your ideas fairly down the line. Check out Neualtenburg, they even have a group forum right here comfy in the bosom of the SL forums !!!

I do not agree with fictious Governments without real economic statistics to go by. Only Linden Labs can make these critical decisions with consideration of feedback from the Community.

Not everyone can run a business. And to come to second life and be expected to work sounds so republican.

Listen buddy, if you shell your whole day in SL and are struggling to make some RL living off it, I don't care and it's really not my problem. But hey... I work a 45+ hour office week, with heavy overtime and stressfull issues popping up every second, not to mention my 2 hour daily commute to and from work. Nobody.. and surely not you.. is gonna make me feel like I have to punch in to SL and work my ass off.

Hey, I wasn't expecting free money. I used to play There, where you recieve an allowance, but you pay a monthly fee JUST to play the game. But, as Kris says, if they offer it, what? Should I give it back? Or should I reward you for your oh so hard work inworld?????
