It's hard to "prove" yourself to the SL community when half of the outspoken people in the world already hate you for some imaginary offenses you haven't done yet.
Everyone calm down and let him plead his case.

Well I personally don't like the fact that during the bidding process, Fizik reffered to one of the bidders, who happens to be a long time well respected player of SL, as a "whiner". Granted, I haven't said anything yet about that because technically it is hearsay. But then I also have no reason to distrust the person who relayed the information (who supposedly was the one Fizik said this to). So of course based on this my opinion is a little wary at first (and if *really* true, then it actually pisses me off - and does not bode well for first impressions of Fizik himself). And well yeah, I would have loved to have seen the first sim go to "just an average player" in SL, rather than a company. That said, I refer back to my original post in this thread. I'm going to watch and see. I'm not anticipating anything bad persay, and certainly feel like I will always have the option not to support the SL work of this group if it deems something I dislike. I also do wish them luck with the Island, and hope that it will be something that can be enjoyed by the SL community as a whole. ![]() _____________________

I think it's too bad that Fizik obtained the sim through the auction, because it makes it easier for players to feel (correctly or not) like they were deprived of something. If he had been able to arrange to rent a sim from the Lindens, it would make it clear that the sim only existed in the first place because of Fizik's investment.
Surely threatening to harass someone is going too far? There are a lot of conflicting motives for being in SL, a lot of "playing styles" that don't get along, but we're not supposed to deal with it by harassing people. _____________________

Pen,
Thank you for referring to me. I could care less what Fizik said about me, which came to me indirectly from Obscuro. I was not silent about my unhappiness with the entire auction process, and if that makes me a whiner, so be it. I did not have to lie or act like an ass to win an auction. If acting the way that poor persecuted Fizik did is what it took to win the auction, then what a winner they are indeed. Garbage in, garbage out. Cristiano |

I've been promised before by salespeople that they are just here to help... really they just want my money. Once bitten twice shy.
If Fizik is really here to just play and not introduce outside marketing, he should clarify, and if he's here to sell RL stuff, he should flat out tell us what he's gonna sell. I am so sick of corporate double speak. commin with the next $*&$ rock another name brand lookin a like a bonus but it's just another lame scam a new birth like being baptised ever since i been disenfranchised. (Anyone like McEnroe? He's from Winnipeg eh) |

Originally posted by Corwin Weber Why exactly? I thought it might be appropriate for people to read what Fizik had to say in response to his initial post. Many of the responses in this current thread are about Fizik not responding, or about lack of information. The followup from Fizik seemed to be the best place for people to regroup and continue the conversation. |

I was thinking Eva Maddox, since they are the only branding consultants I can think of exclusively located in London and Chicago. Prophet would be another possibility but I think they have an office in Los Angeles, too.

Yes, talk about arrogant rich people throwing their money around...
Originally posted by Garoad Kuroda roflmao Howard Dean's campaign team buying an SL sim...hehehe.. well he's probably nutty enough to do that. I can only imagine the influx of people that'd be visiting the "Dean campaign sim" (only $10!)....lol That'd make SL interesting for a few months... |

"We are a London and Chicago based Innovation and Branding Agency"
Originally posted by Misnomer Jones Sounds to me like a marketing/ad agency. Using terms like Sounds to me like someone in the cattle business. Maybe a couple of pewter salad plates down my avatars backside would be prudent though. |
