Blasting the Lindens

This thread is being started to give residents a chance tell their horror stories about as one resident put it so well " the Lindens are clueless and useless" tell your story here that proves this fact.

i will start it by relaying a couple of incidents with me. Believe me there are some Lindens that have been great but there are some very useless ones too. I dont think a person should be a Linden person if he or she will not be willing to help residents.

Take for instance when a Live help person abused me see some of the previous forums for details on this one. i got a Linden on the line here on SL and she told me out right she could not help me she was in UK. Gee isnt Sl an international community? there are no borders no countries. just simulated virutal communities made up of different nationalies and ethnic groups. Then a Linden treated me as the criminal instead of the victim.

now for the kicker story here. The Lindens will not consider abuse if it is a personal matter as within a group. They wont even do anything if certain people continuous abuse within the name of the group. Certain people who go to the extent of not only extracting the owner of the land from the group, but burn down the business destroy property and al on a continual basis. though on security lists as baned they use scripts to drop on a person's land to get around the security and cause continuous havoic. still the resident has to suffer endless over and over every day these people come on and destroy things, build over and on top of and really cause havoc. when is enough enough. it ties up the owner to not be able to do anyting with the property and possessions as she as outsted from the group, she can banned them yes but cant prevent them from dropping scrips to get around their security. Gee Lindens when is enough enough.
Abuse is abuse no matter if it is persornal or not abuse where things are destroyed yes they can be in SL or taken. and continuous abuse even if personal as Lindens say in a group settng should be a crime. now this person has to figure out a way to keep thier stuff and all the work they put into the property is gone or will be gone if they return all on the acct of some idiots out there who hate and Lindens let them abuse.

Word of advice to all who are thinking of starting a group. Make your group but you are the only officer or a boy friend or girl friend you know in rl someone you have known for years outside here. make all others members if they do not like it tell them to join another group. and dont ever ever set your land to group. i did that and the person i was sharing the land with ate up all the prims never once considered me so i could do nothing was thinking of leaving sl myself lots of times or in the case of a friend ousted her right out of the group and is to this day on a continuous benge to make her life hell making scripts to get around securities and all.

question too was brought up last year and that is is police necessary in SL? I would say no in the sense of a real force as in rl. but we do need some sort of resident avocate system to investigate situations and come between disputes to solve things , have some power to solve them alot like Live help, if not have the power or contact to a real Linden who WILL help

Well lets hear your story of how the Lindens are clueless and useless. See how many facts we can get together to maybe i mean maybe get them to listen and maybe change policies .

a bit more detail to that incident of the person who got ousted from the group by the other officers.. well that and then the officers proceded to trash this person's business and land and all Then with scripts they drop on the land proceed to come back on it avoiding any security system this person puts up to build on the land adding prims of trash and just a continual harrassment and this kind of behavior making life on SL a total hell and destroying all the work this person and their partner have done to build the successful business and a thread or article personal or not abuse is abuse and continual abuse personal or not should be a crime punished by being banned from sl but the problem with this is that they can come back as different avatars and continuously harrass residents this is just harrassment of one resident will they stop there or will Lindens alow them to go about sl searching for groups so they can destroy Sl through groups and the life in general in Sl making Sl a very unpleasant experience. What if eveyrone withdrew from sl? say for a month and everyone take their avs down to basic i know this is impossible but what if things are going to change and to get the Lindens to change their policies on abuse or wise up and listen to the residents on other matters maybe to attack their pocket book might work?

i do compliment the Lindens that do come to our aid thanks so much.
but lets hear it from the residents stories to back up what residents say about Lindens being useless and clueless. Yes acutually have heard that statement all around SL.

all the Lindens i ever ran into were cluefull and usefull. probly helps if you aren't a butt to them. not saying you are..just saying. so yeah i like Lindens. they're fun.

There are Lindens from all over the world. If you really had one say that they couldn't help you because either you or they were in the UK I'd be surprised...

Can we start a thread about abusing the English language?

Would it be too much to ask that people not be allowed to graduate high school until they can write a simple, clear paragraph; do simple math ... up to fractions let's say; demonstrate an understanding of fundementals of government and economics; present a logical argument and identify faulty logic; and, be able to identify at least which hemisphere other countries are located in? (No kiddies... Belize is NOT in Europe).

I left out demonstrate good manners. In theory, your parents beat that into you.

Are you assuming the original poster has graduated from high school (in an English-speaking country), or not?

Though sadly, too many graduates in the US can't do any of these things, much less all of them.

The original poster scans like a poorly educated American. Non native English speakers usually make different kinds of mistakes. So do Brits, etc.

I don't usually rant, but I just happened to hit maximum tolerance tonight. Education is not the only measure of the worth of an individual, but it sure makes a difference if you want to be taken seriously. How can you function in a text medium if you can't write clearly.

Anyway, it does continue to amaze me how insular Americans remain. Belizians are so much more knowledgable about the U.S. than even many Americans. Living here during the election was eye opening. OK... I'm headed into this becoming completely OT.

Like everyone else, I found it impossible to follow Julianna's original and follow-up posts. I envision a Linden confronted by an abuse report which reads like them. In this instance, I suspect it's less a matter of Lindens being "clueless and useless", and more one of being faced with the same deciphering problems we've had.

It's clear you're upset about whatever it is that happened. Maybe that keeps you from being able to describe it well.
Do you really feel the Lindens are clueless? Or is it possible they might not have understood your problem, just as we can't?
I suggest you find a friend who understands what's wrong and can tell it clearly and simply. Then have your friend write an abuse report for you to give to the Lindens, or to explain it to them next time it happens.
Sometimes just having a new person say something in a new way can make a difference.

Bless her heart. She really thought the forums might have taken this seriously to start a Linden bashing right here in our own backyard.

I have been guilty of eyeball gouging and you guys took it pretty easy on me compared to this roue haha. If I never said "thank you" for not making me feel like a complete "uneducated" > . < L.....looser for it, Im saying it now.
