Linden Labs why are you doing this to us?

I can't log in any more than anyone else and my question is why are you submitting us to this? I don't think it's an act of god so it must be deliberate. By deliberate I mean you are submitting us to this by either incomptence or ignorance. At the very least you could explain why you are purposely doing this and how you plan to fix it. Next Tuesday doesn't cut it with me sorry.

OK Linden Labs I know you are trying but somehow I don't feel you are trying in the right direction. Do you see all of of these posts? We aren't asking for chat bubbles and other things that will "make SL in line with other online products". We just want to log in and you are making it impossible for us. I have yet to see a company philosophy statement that makes me feel better. All I see is be patient and wait....

Well you're not missing much. I finally logged in just now, and everything is running like shite.

OK you can all flame me as much as you want but I say this is just another example of a software company who says they have bugs wirhout admitting that they created these bugs in the first place. Whatever happened to a sense of responsiblitiy? I know I didn't create SL "bugs" and I doubt if any other user did. I guess they came from outer space.

Whatever happened to good old honesty and a promise to fix what is wrong without trying to BS us?

It's all part of the same ongoing experiment. Take away the cheese and see how the lab rats react...

Missing the point.

Linden Lab employees are in love with Second Life. They are having the same problem logging in as we are. They are probably just as frustrated, since it's their baby.

It's not an "us vs them" thing. That's my point.

Yes, I'm sure that's the reason Philip started LL and invested his own money. </sarcasm>

TALK to a Linden. They love what they do, and you folks are all giving them shit for it.

Please don't make them stop loving it; they'll stop working so hard.

Considering the last time we had a 2-day outage they refunded our money, perhaps the best course of action would be to be supportive rather than abrasive, so they're more likely to give a refund?

Ah, Hiro...

I feel your pain. Sadly, it would seem that many believe the 'custumer' is always right as well.

If you're talking commerce, I'd disagree, because I've noticed trends that sales will increase sharply after an outage / patch. Probably it's due to people not being online and itching to shop.

If you're talking tier, 1k = $4 us. So @ 48 hours, that rate would be about 15k a month, or $60US

Considering they don't have to give refunds at all, that's not bad.

No you are missing the point and I say this very politely. I am not paying this kind of money to watch a bunch of people trying to get it right. I expect to get a good product for my money just as I would from any company. I do not expect online software companies to be any different from any other company and all I am saying is that I want what I pay for.

The Linden employees trying to log in hurts me bad but I doubt if they are paying what I pay each month.

I worked in retail. Basically, if you are busting your ass (and not sleeping) to help a customer out, and they are ungrateful, then it's okay to assume that the customer is "not right".

Why is the assumption always that LL is doing nothing during an outage? I simply cannot fathom it.

This, however, is not what you've been saying in the thread.
This is rationally stated.

You allege deliberate / incompetant / ignorant behavior by LL.

And then you demand to know what was being done, when you could have checked the announcement forum and found out instead of posting a mean post like this.

We're all upset, Susie. Do you think you stressing out the devs by accusing them of being ignorant / incompetant / deliberately victimizing you is going to fix things faster?

I have no idea what you are talking about and I don't recall calling anyone ignorant. All I am saying is that LL created SL and I want my money's worth pure and simple. You can read all you want into that.

Susie, don't try and backpeddle here. Please read your own initial post. You said that the login problems were:
(a) deliberate
and by that "you meant" either out of:
(b) ignorance
(c) incompetance.

It's your words. If you don't want to say that, perhaps you should go back and edit your original post, and perhaps apologize?
