Well, until they figure out the next type of fuel, I would gladly take one of these to hold me over, if the gov't would let it in this country (US):

hahahaha.... Why do all of these alternative vehicles all have to look so freaking ugly? Is that a requirement...? That's at least one reason nobody's buying them...nobody wants to be laughed at. lol.. As for letting that thing (whatever it is) in here, if there's a market for it, it should be allowed. Why isn't it being allowed? And what is it? (besides a go-cart) (Btw....wouldn't you die driving one of those putters next to tractor trailers on highways?) Whoa! Musta hit a bump there! Sorry I'm in a blunt mood right now I guess.

WTF is C3PO supposed to be USEFUL for anyway, besides whining? Stupid piece of scrap metal would be more useful recycled as a toaster. But even that would suck, because who would want to listen to a whining wussy toaster? Is he gold plated? If that's the case he should just be melted down into gold ingots. Help the economy some, and stop being so damn useless you stupid bucket of bolts! R2 is 1,000 times more useful than your tin man ass, and he's shaped like a salt and pepper shaker FFS!

The world's production of fossil fuels will certainly dwindle before 2050. What energy source will we use for our electricity, transportation, heating, etc? Wind power? Hydroelectricity? Not practical and doesn't provide enough. Solar power? Lol. Has anyone seen The Simpsons episode when Snake was strapped into a solar-powered electric chair? Nuclear power? It's kinda nasty and dangerous and the waste lasts thousands of years. There are only two alternatives I see: 1.) wiping out most of humanity so that the remaining few can use the the less practical but eco-friendly energy sources (while continuing to maintain a low population); 2.)nuclear fusion--the holy grail of energy production.

Sorry I'm in a blunt mood right now I guess. 'cool' is relative Garoad.. personally, i would find it much more cool to be able to find easy parking with that car in the city, than circling for 20mins in an SUV. As for safety, it uses the Tridion safety cell (engineered by MB) and in offset frontal performs as well as a C-class MB. It's a SMART. Originally developed as a joint venture between Mercedes Benz and Swatch, it uses some innovative construction techniques: tridion safety cell and swapable plastic body panels (you can change the color of your car in about 30min). Obviously not much use for them in the rural environments, but plenty of use in urban and even sub-urban settings. They also have this which might be more up your alley on the 'cool' factor:

Ah... I love the Smart - great little buzz-bombs. I only wish Brabus would make their proper version of the roadster - they took a normal one, Brabusized it, then added an extra engine, effectively giving it a 6-cylinder twin-turbo lump. Unfortunately they've no plans for mass manufacture. Want! (Though I probably wouldn't fit in it)

Cool! Now that second one is much better. That might sell over here if the price is reasonable. For the record, I don't drive a Ferrari, just a little Saturn. You still haven't explained why you can't get one over here--why not? US companies are starting to get into this market more now, so maybe we'll have them soon. I still have a few concerns about these: 1) It would be HELL to get maintainence done on it--if (no, when--we're talking computer crap here) something breaks, you are screwed because no mechanic has ever seen one before--something to consider. 2) If you're a big person, tall or whatever, it's gonna suck (if you can fit into one). 3) I'm still wondering what happens when a large truck changes lanes onto you because he didn't see your little car--you might be so low to the ground that it could take your head off! 4) The price (especially for the good looking ones) must be outrageous right now...it has to be pretty close to normal car prices, I think. Not trying to pull down the concept, it's very interesting, but it needs to solve alot of tough problems.
