So I've been catching up on the second season of the new Battlestar Galactica and I have to say, this is hands down the best sci-fi show ever on television. Any other fans in here?

BWAHAHAHAHAHA! That's awesome! I like the new Cylons, but I like the old Cylon fighters better.

I should strangle you for that comment. Now if they hadn't fundamentally altered Starbuck(or was it Apollo?). I watched the pilot, got sick and turne dit off. They change the sex of one of the pivotol characters..

No Longer A Black "Tigh" Affair
03-13-2006 18:17
Agreed. I was pissed about the sex change-but she does do a great job! And they backed off the sexual relationship with Apollo.
I'm still a tad miffed about the race changes of Boomer and Tigh, however. Now the only black character is some second stringer enlisted woman. -Kiamat Dusk PS: What's with all the death threats?! ![]() _____________________

Gotta FRACKING agree, Battlestar is the best sci-fi show I have watched in a long time. Dunno, the old Battlestar seemed cheesy to me, so I never watched it much. I do remember the old cylon ships though, and do like them better.
Firefly was also a great show, too bad they only made like 16 episodes for the TV. The movie was very good as well, hope there is a sequel. Sucks Wash got it . _____________________

The new Battlestar Gallactica rocks, its probably my favorite show on T.V. (next to Passions at 8am on sci-fi
![]() The new Battlestar Galactica needs a 'hunk'. - Chief - pudgy, not hunk type; - Apollo - too short; - Helo - He's a an average Joe looking guy; - Gaius Baltar - He's sexy but a little metro sexual looking; - Male skin job Cylons - no hunk's there at all; Briana Dawson |

I don't know if I'd say BSG is the best EVER, but it's definitely up there. No question it's the best show on TV right now.
As for Senrenity sequals, sorry to disappoint you, Echo, but it's not going to happen. ![]() I liked Buffy, but I LOVED Firefly, so I was less than thrilled at the news that Serenity was finally dead, especially after its fans had worked so hard to resurrect it. It's tuff to imagine what more could be done in the Buffy universe anyway. The series ended on such a bizarre note. As for Wonder Woman, I'm really curious to see where that story could go with Whedon at the helm. He may just save the character. Nothing significant has happened with her in at least 20 years, so he's got some lattitude. Anyway, back to BSG. Kiamat, if you thought the first 2 seasons were good, wait 'til you see the third. Like Farscape before it, BSG keeps getting better and better, and it changes every season. Without spoiling, this season's finale wasn't quite the "HOLY SHIT!" moment that the season 2 finale was but it was super intense, and it definitely left me biting my nails and sweating like a pig, waiting to see what happens next. Damn Sci Fi and their whacky season schedule. I want it to be July already NOW! I gotta know what happens. I gotta. Oh, and awesome pic, Zuzu. ![]() _____________________

Firefly *was good*, but it is not in the same category or budget as the new Battlestar Galactica. I would give it a close 2nd. Briana Dawson IMNSHO BSG is a lot more complex and with a longer attention span, but Firefly was much more peaky. Think of a Cote de Nuit vs a Central Coast Zin. |

I haven't seen the new BSG. But I did enjoy the original (not Galactica 1980) very much, space disco and all. The theme song was one of my primary reasons for watching: it was extraterrestrial, but in a patriotic way.

*ahem* ![]() I so could have liked firefly if they hadn't screwed it up with the stupid coboys in space motif. They even made their ship look like a fucking horse! Stupid stupid stupid! (I did enjoy the movie though). As for BSG, finally something Kiamat and I can agree on. It's hands down the best made for tv scifi show of all time. I'm going to have to take up heroin or something now that there's no more new episodes until October. *sob* I can't wait to see what happens next. The season ender was a definite "OMG WTF?!!" Season two just ended by the way. It was split into two parts. Season three starts next October. _____________________

I think they messed up big time on the finale. They either shifted the plot in a weird ass direction (not to mention fast forwarding on full year) or they are going to have to do a cheezy "it was all a dream" conclusion to reverse the mess they just made of the show. I will look with great optimism for the new shows in October, but I really don't know how they are going to be able to fix what they just did with the show ![]() _____________________

It doesnt... look like a horse...
![]() I haven't seen the last BG2... or a few prior to that. Hope it's good, they pissed me off with
the killing of Billy. I loved that kid, and the romance crap between Dee and Apollo is just stupid. They didn't have anything at all leading up to it showing anything between them, and all of a sudden she's a complete bitch to Billy when just the episode prior they were all lovey sweet while working out together. Stupidest thing ever.
Oh well. _____________________

I love sci fi. But Battlestar just bores the shit out of me. I watched the first series and thought it painful. I watched the first few episodes of season two and gave up. I really wanted to like it - I just think it sucks donkey balls

(I did enjoy the movie though). Then it woulnd't have been firefly. The whole point was the "stupid cowboys in space motif". _____________________
