Is it a bag thing for a 16 year old to play normal SL

Anyway. It is a bad thing for anyone under 30 to play SL!

Under 30? =O That's a pretty high number. I'll bargain you down to 20.

When I was around 14 everyone guessed I was 30+ by the way I acted. So all you ignorant bastards need to jsut shut up and vanish.

No they didn't. A few old guys who wanted to make the cute little kid "feel special" might have said it, but no one meant it.

Oh by thwe way don't start that "go to the teen grid" routine, the teen grid is a liason infested hell-hole prison.
Oh, so you've been there.

From: someone
I am a perfect speller, have always received 92 or above, but striking at my typing is jsut a low blow because your lookign at something you can attack easily.
And so how are you doing in your other classes? Summer break ends soon doesn't it?

We little baby kiddies on summer break don't care about such things! 20, or the wedding is off.

Spot on David.

Also it is not about how mature a teenager is or thinks he/she is, it is about nameless, faceless adults gaining intimate trust of teenagers and influencing them with no accountability whatsoever. It is completely inapropriate for any adult to have this kind of relationship with a teenager, especially one that thinks she is all grown up and mature.

Okay, mea cupla. Besides, I want my truffle supply back. :)

I totally agree with you that monitoring Internet relationships is too difficult for a parent to sufficiently monitor. I should have made that much more clear...sorry 'bout that! My point was that teens shouldn't be *totally* cut off from other adults. Remember that thread about how "He Didn't Have A Criminal Record"? I just don't think it's a good idea to put kids in a bubble...it just makes them even more want to go off on their own unsupervised.

Big Brothers/Sisters, Youth Counselors, Scout Leaders, Teachers...we can either trust these people or fear these people. Trust involves risk, yes. It's my opinion that the rewards outweigh the risk...and the risk can be mitigated by having a close relationship with your child.

BTW, I do not have kids. My father and my mother were (and still are) both educators; they instilled in me a belief in helping those who can learn from you. That can't happen if everyone hides their children away from the world because it could be a potential threat.

We need a new pole (but I'm too lazy today):

On the main grid, which group has the most people in it?
() adults with arrested development
() minors

Personally, I think minors are getting a bad rap due to the immature griefing done by adults with arrested development.

We pretty much agree then but I will have the stipulation that the only "adult" friends my teenage child should have are ones that I personally know and approve of. I am not saying to lock your kid in a box and not let them have any interaction with any adult, just that I want to completely control who that adult is and that is impossible to do in the nameless, faceless internet.

*tosses Liona a box of yummy chocolate truffles*
