*raises a brow*

Yes, because Christians have a monopoly on mercy and forgiveness.

Uh... huh.

This is a sad attempt at trolling.

The most senseless statement in this thread yet.

Your statement seemed to be grouping all Christians together as a whole.

After all I do believe humility makes me better. Not better than you, a better person.

I thought you didn't do that assumption thing.

Is your humility truly your own? Or does it come from Jesus?
Does your morality issue from God? Or do you own your own moral center?

Not only that --Jesus didn't give anybody the right of forgiveness --He pointed out that it was already present in all humans.

No Jesus suffered to pay for our sins. He could have been like you and I would have been and just took the easy way out. He didn't though. Because of him, god is forgiving.

Thank you for trying to translate my beliefs though.

Wait, wait. Are you saying that Jesus forced God to be forgiving?

No, it's neither, actually.

You are acting as though disbelief in Ye'shua as the Mosiach means someone is incapable of forgiveness.

From: someone
Our belief is that Jesus gave us the right to forgiveness. You dont beleive in Jesus so you don't share that beleif.

I don't believe we require a bloodstained intermediary for forgiveness if there is a God; if there is a God, and it is Omnipotent, Omnipresent and Omniscient, any transgressions against God are already forgiven in advance.

But I guess that if I had a God, it's milkshake would bring the boys to the yard.

Do you wish to have an actual conversation or do you plan on just quoting out of the playbook?

Also --your assumption that I would have "taken the easy way out" is laughable.
As a Jew (like your Jesus)n I'd have most likely done the very same thing.

His suffering didn't pay for your sins, hon. Only you can pay for your sins.
Jesus rendered unto God what was God's. He paid his fare. Will you?

From: whomever originally wrote that thing

When I say, "I'm a hack," I'm not shouting, "I'm a poet!"
I'm whispering, "I can't write but don't know it"

When I say, "I'm a hack" I don't speak with human pride
I'm confessing that I ramble — using cliches as my guide

When I say, "I'm a hack," I'm not saying I suck and should and shelve it.
My poetry fine, is about as devine, as Divinci's Last Supper on velvet.

I don't personally have problems with the sentiments of the poem as much as how badly it's written. I've seen knock knock jokes with better craftsmanship.

I do not really understand your question but I'll try to answer.

My humility, is in honor of Jesus. I try to walk like Jesus, but sometimes I fail. I fail, as we have seen in this very thread. So my morality is not issued from god, I guess I own it.

To answer this I would have to start with my translation of Genesis and Adam and Eve. It's way to late to start such a debate so I am really hoping this answers your question.

I do have a feeling no matter what I say you would have had an arguement though.

If by this, do you mean would I remain faithful?

I think so. I have been put through many test. From losing loved ones way before their time, to fighting through cancer and sickness. I have always put my faith in god and never blamed him (well since I became Christian)

Would I be able to be beaten and tortured like Jesus and still display such love and not fight back? I dont think so, I would try but I fear I would fail.

Then I'd say you have failed in learning anything from Jesus' death. Believeing in him as a diety won't save you from anything if you can't be as Christ.

We can all be Christ. THAT's what he was saying.

No, it is not what he was saying at all.

I had a great debate yesterday with the original poster.

So will use it as an example.

I would use Simon as an example.

Jesus looked at him and said "You are Simon but you will be Peter"

Now Simon was a weak hearted, wish-washy self centered, never thought about anyone else ungodly human being.

But Jesus said, you will be Peter.

What was the difference?

Trials.

God chipped away at Simon and created Peter. Did he stumble? Yes. But like a marble statue, through trials, everything not needed was cut away until all that remained was Peter.

As we know Peter went on to save thousands and begin to place the building blocks of Christianity today by founding the first churches.

I beleive Kendra, Its all on you. To stand faithful. In the mist of a situation, what is meant for evil, god will turn it around to work for his glory as long as I stand and remain faithful.

It must be miserable to live in such an intolerant and hate filled mind.

And christians should know intolerance and hate. I've never had my choice of hard science over religion or my lifestyle choices questioned by buddhists, wiccans or even athiests that I have met. However, I have been denouced by christians and had loads of bibles thumped at me merely because someone discovered I am not a believer or worse, got nosey and discovered my personal choice in partners.

Christianity is intolerance incarnate. :(

Actually I take back that last comment...Ernie

I don't mind that you are a Christian. Yes you may feel oppressed or not in the majority in Second Life and you may feel like you are coming out of the closet when you say you are a Christian but now you are going to sit here and be mean to someone that is a jew when Jesus was a Jew and for all you know, Romans could have re-written that part to make the jews look bad so that their hands could be clean.

If you notice, Caesar is made out to be a nice saint while jews went from children of God to mean killers. Doesn't that sound off an alarm?

Damien, did you read my very last line about sarcasim? I was adding a little religous humor before I go to bed.

Lighten up. Read post from a page earlier where I stated I far from hate Jews.
