The name is irrelevant. Go look up real history and get back to us. I can call my country the "Union of Happy, Freedom-Loving, Stylish Sports Fans" and that doesn't mean it actually describes the country. Plenty of nations use "Democratic" in their names and are dictatorships. Look up a few.

You mean aside from almost every country in the European Union? This is the same European Union that has a collective economy and GDP that rivals the U.S.

Minor clarification, the -debt- is 8.5 trillion. The deficit, l last I looked was around the 500 billion mark.
