It depends on your perspective. To an ultra conservative everything looks liberal and to an ultra liberal everything looks conservative. The forums are certainly more polar than I've seen in game. Probably because you need a stronger opinion before you're motivated enough to formulatea post here. |

What did others get? Economic Left/Right: -7.75 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.33 And I'm (unfortunately) an American myself, so I'm sure you can guess how much I just love my (Nazi-like) country! Edit: As an aside, I disliked some of the questions, however, in that in one case I would have preferred a "no opinion" option, and in some others, my answer was more, "Yes/no, but this is why ..." I suppose only so much can be done with such a test, however. Anyway, my results don't surprise me much at all. Edit 2: Fun surprising fact: Despite my results, I loathe democracy as a system of government. Not that it has ever existed (it hasn't, save in name), but I would fight to the death against it. Frankly, the average idiot on the street has no business making any political decisions whatsoever, even in part. I'm inclined to believe that a ruling class is necessary -- a good ruling class, however, as opposed to the robber-barons and corporations (truly the worst things ever to exist, those) of today. Anyway, in the short run, none of this matters. It might in the long run, after the chaos dies down, along (literally) with our overpopulation. _____________________

There once was a poll, in Off-Topic, I believe. It was about evenly split between Democrats and Republicans, as I recall. coco I wouldn't doubt this (I think I recall that poll), but I'm pretty sure that at one time Chip is right that it USED to be very liberal, when SL was much smaller. It does seem like the liberal side is a little more vocal in posting IMO. It's more balanced lately, but it used to be like...um 2 conservatives or so in every thread with 20 participants in it if I recall correctly. I think that poll sucks though...where's the moderate option? And pure liberal/conservative polls suck, what if you fall into both categories for different types of issues? Hmm, does this make sense for a poll? Economic- taxes, government spending, free government benefits/social programs Social- culture, lifestyle, abortion, criminal justice, personal freedoms (except privacy vs. national security freedoms?) Defense- foreign policy, Iraq/Afghanistan, war on terror policy, privacy vs. national security 1) Economic Liberal/Social Liberal/Defense Liberal 2) Economic Liberal/Social Liberal/Defense Conservative 3) Economic Liberal/Social Conservative/Defense Conservative 4) Economic Conservative/Social Conservative/Defense Conservative 5) Economic Conservative/Social Conservative/Defense Liberal 6) Economic Conservative/Social Liberal/Defense Liberal 7) Economic Liberal/Social Conservative/Defense Liberal Economic Conservative/Social Liberal/Defense ConservativeThat is if you can read it without your eyes bleeding. But even this isn't flexible enough, you could be moderate in one of those categories.
