What I have always found interesting about you, Prok, is that you feel there should be some equalizer in life that somehow mitigates popularity contests so that you can finally be accepted. It's like some sort of social communism. Fascinating really considering your rabid stance against all things socialist.

But sadly for you, life IS a popularity contest. There are no written rules for it (much like at SC), but there it is --one must be part of a community in order to be appreciated by that community.

Setting oneself up as a victimized pariah is usually a non-workable solution.

Wasn't that done to put stress on word, not as quotation? Like the _underscores_, from usenet times. Not *too* uncommon, some boards even translate these into bold tags nowadays o.O;

SecondCitizen doesn't have many rules. Really it doesn't. A lot less than this and a lot less than Lewis' beloved Stratics (which does have politics despite his thinking it doesn't). As a matter of fact, I believe SC has two rules: 1. Don't spam. 2. Get an avatar.

That's it. Not so hard really to do either. I mean you all put up with a lot more here. Furthermore these are private boards. There are other places Prok could go if he felt he couldnt' handle the no avatar.

But see, for him, not getting an avatar was a personal challenge to the owners of that board. He even made a post about saying he wasn't going to get an avatar and there was nothing the board owners could do about it and issued it as a challenge for them to do something about it. When you say to someone "I double dare you to do X" -- don't be surprised if that person ups and responds to the dare! Geesh.

I do it all the time, but it's meant as emphasis (in place of bold or italics). It's common in forums that only have plain text.

The asterisks are used heavily by Prok, Chip, also a few other phrases used by "Solario" are out and out Prokisms.
I was simply advising Prok if she wants to disguise who she is she needs to depart even more from her normal style.

But otherwise Prok, Kudos on the post length, avoiding any Ummms and not saying "I fight back"
