Was about to post that, you can crash client if you change to a custom size, n.n and type in a few sizes, but its kinda overkill size that make it blow up for me

6000x6000 ish

guess its ram related though, since it save it to your ram and instant to disk when you hit save.

Ok, I've tried every size opption and custom. When I can get the pic to actually save(rare), if I click anything that's scripted, like to change pose, or even just click the browser buttons I crash.

Im having the same problem. Im trying to take snapshots for a potential modelling job. The snapshots save fine, using 1024 x 768 resolution as I always do. As soon as I try to change poses, crash! It's more than annoying. Any ideas on this? Cant get the job if I can't send pics!

The snapshots themselves don't crash me, but if I bring up the build editor just after taking the snapshot, it crashes immediately.

a number of bugs...
08-25-2006 22:18
bug #1: we live on an island with 2 friends...they always get the correct land textures, but often either Marcan Aridian or i will log to sand and no grass. sometimes one of us has grass, sometimes the other, sometimes both or neither.

bug #2: i work at IDP as a host, and for some reason since last friday i can't hear any of the related equipment...not the tip ball, not the game board, not the employee sign in stuff...zilch. i can hear my mic.

bug #3: for the past two weeks, i've been only getting music off and on while other people hear it fine...i got music all today for the first time, so we'll see if this update fixed that.

bug #4: i occasionally log to the ground having a "patchwork quilt" appearance where, depending what angle i'm looking at, different parts of the patchwork appear but mostly just sand. i've had this problem ever since we moved to a private island, but it also occurs on mainland for me now. its like i'm seeing "the matrix" *makes twiligh zone noises*

ps, not crashing doing bug report anymore, but can't get rid of title...

crashing
08-25-2006 23:46
Ok I'm crashing when I save a photo I take to save to disk. I'm also crashing when I have saved the pic then clicked on something else. for example.. i took a pic, saved it to my hd, then clicked on my pose stand to advance it to the next pose. the second i clicked the pose stand i crashed again. i've given up taking pics for tonight. sigh...

I was also having the snapshot crash issue which oddly but thankfully now has stopped. But Now, everytime I try to make a new notecard I get an uber lag spike that lags me out to the point of the little red mini map of death(crash without logger). Doesn't matter where I try to make the notecard or how I make it.

Photo upload crashing
08-29-2006 06:04
100% of the time when I take a photo to be uploaded to disk, its crashing me out of world, then when I try to relog it says I am still in world and have to try again in a few moments... :(

This is becoming extremely frustrating....should I keep sending crash logs?...and bug reports each time?...

Found another minute detail...after uploading..when I go to click on a scripted object..in this case a pose stand, that is when I crash, I tried not clicking on the pose stand and I was able to stay in world....just adding more info to help find a solution!!!!

Help!!!!!!!!
:::goes and gets ducttape for avi:::::

I'm glad I'm not the only one experiencing this:

Is anyone crashing while taking/uploading photos?

Snapshot crashing
08-29-2006 13:17
Crash right after I take snapshots. Everything seems fine, but after I take the snap and click on an object, like my pose stand, it crashes. EVERYTIME!!!!

They need to fix this pronto..I can't work like this I have to keep relogging cause I'm tired of the crashes. I know I'm not the only one experiencing this.

Sangi--I've heard a few anecdotal reports of this but I'm unable to reproduce it here. I'll move this to Technical Issues. Anyone else having the same problem should mention it, and also say what their hardware is; I wonder if it's tied to something specific.

One bug report for a certain bug is good enough, provided you give details and it's easy to understand by us. More info here: http://secondlife.com/knowledgebase/article.php?id=189

Clarrice, I merged your post with Sangi's too.

One other thing--please see if uninstalling and reinstalling makes a difference... or if you don't want to lose all your settings, see if temporarily dragging the "SecondLife" folder out of the C:\Documents and Settings\[YOUR USERNAME]\Application Data folder and then starting Second Life makes a difference.

All relevant details appreciated.

Just wanted to mention I'm aggregating the "snapshot crashing" reports as we do want to find out more. I've got these threads so far:

/111/f0/133625/1.html
/invalid_link.html
/invalid_link.html
/invalid_link.html
/invalid_link.html

Please make sure to send in your crash reports after it happens, I'm going to communicate all this to the developers.

You may want to check that Preferences > General > Crash reports "Ask before sending", or better yet, "Always Send" is on.

Please also check your specific settings, like if this happens with higher resolutions (or if Client menu > High-res Snapshot is on, for that matter), if you find snapshot settings which *don't* result in a crash, etc.

[UPDATE] I've merged all threads on this "snapshot crashing" issue.

GOOD NEWS: this problem appears to have just been fixed internally. Look for the fix to be publicly available soon!

crashes due to pics or hud attachments/poseballs
08-31-2006 15:36
I have at least 5 bug reports relating to this.. I can see in this thread and others that I am not the only one experieincing this... Dual Core processor, NVedia Card of 256 7900, 2 g memory... this shouldn't be happening to my system.

The first time i noticed this issue was after this last big update.. then once i uploaded the last viewer update.. it happens everytme I log on. I can touch a pose ball, an attachment on another avie, or take a pic while trying to use a scripted item and boom there it goes. Crash... I figure at this point I am filing a bug report each and everytime.
