You can add my husband and myself in this headcount. Before this last update, we would both have moments we would crash but this has gotten ridiculous. We are on the same DSL connection and have been experiencing the high spiking with the bandwidth and packet loss. It is like a crap shoot if we get to stay on or not.
Just last night, hubby was in IM for about 5 - 10 minutes and all seemed fine .. then all of a sudden crash. Tried to re-log in and crashed before he could even finish putting in his password! Not just to desktop though .. it completely reset itself. When he checked his settings .. he was reverted back to 16bit imaging and from the 1000m cache to the 500m cache. Also when his freezes, it completely shuts his pc down. He wasn't taking pics or anything, just talking! Me on the other hand can't seem to fully load images to save my life, but have been taking product pics for the last few days. Take about 6 successful shots "if that" and out I go. Also noticed last night, that a few textures disappeared. If it was one in inventory that was just sitting there I would not be so upset but it is one that is sold in my vendors for two hair styles. Now if anyone has that color do they show the same "missing image" pic that showed up for me on their head? |

Ive gotten to the point now where I dont take random snapshots with the foresight that the next time I touch something to activate it, Im going to need a relog. It really has to be a worthwhile pic cus I know whats coming next. CRASH, FILING CRASH LOG, RELOG.
Havent seen this addressed in any formal 'COMING SOON, WE'RE FIXING THAT CRASHING BUG' memo. Are they working on this specific pain in the ass? _____________________

snapshot -> left-click = crash
09-09-2006 16:31
this has benn happening to me all week. and it is (for me) related to the snapshot interface. i found that not only does taking a snap set me up for a crash, but just opening the snapshot interface, then closing it without even taking a snapshot, will cause a crash when next i left click on a touchable object. help us linden labs!

Are they working on this specific pain in the ass? On page two of this thread about the problem, there are several posts by Torley, including one that says the issue has been fixed internally. I'm curious whether the fix is in the build used for the preview grid. Might be worth a look. _____________________
