anyone else having login problems

i have done deleting that second life folder on my application data before BUT NO LUCK! i have removed and reinstalled SL even the candidate still NO lcuk...

i guess this will be an annoying waiting game for all of us...

idk if this is their way of saying get a premium account... lol

I changed the JIRA issue to Major. To me it seems to be a bug with a login server. Maybe you could update your support tickets with a link to this forum and a link to the JIRA ticket. That way, as soon as a developer gets to work on the login problem he or she would be able to see all the information gathered so far and eventually find out where the problem is.

Wow so many replies. I tried unactivating my firewall 2 days back but had no luck. Will try creating a alt sometime today. And if you avatar is ghosted, you will kinda know as your avatar will appear to be online on your friend's contact list. My friend checked for me, I'm not ghosted.

Yes this is getting super frustrating. And torbien, I did not know jira is answered by residents to so sorry for cursing that guy. I'm super pissed off with lindens and filed a jira at tia's advice as the lindens did not reply to my ticket at all since i filed it on thursday night. Thanks for your help so far. I agree with your view. That might be the problem. If only the lindens would LOOK at their login servers/computers (non technie gal here )

Likewise, I really think that something went wrong on their side, during the 1.25 maintainence as I noticed a trend in this problem. It always happen after maintainence or before it starts. I hope the lindens will be undo any harm to our accounts. I do not wish to start from scratch again too! If this problem is not solved, this would leave many unhappy residents, bad spot on their marketing propaganda.

Edit: Anyone noticed that for the past few days, the SL status report webpage is filled with nothing but database problems, logins disabled... blah blah. I really feel that LL screwed their 1.25 rolling restart thing

I did too. We can hope but i dont know how much faith i have in them lol.

Important lesson learned though. give your alt full permissions to all the things you are working on just in case.

i been trying to log in now for 45 minutes still says connecting to region ive tried on my second computer and still my avi wont log in but yet i can connect on both computers with my alt ...ive changed pass cleared all settings ect still nothing... connecting to region

I seem to notice it more when there's more then 70k residences logged in. It's defiantly a server issue with logins.. and it's starting to tick me off.

Logins are disabled... In world tp's are not working, and linden transactions are messed up.. We should all get in soon enough

Yeah, me too, since thy did that server update on Thursday, 15 minutes to get from verifying cache to connection to region in login screen...then WHAMMO! out on my bum, ah well i guess i expected too much from LL, again.

every single day they've had logins disabled then restored, etc. but those of us able to log in on alts but not main have been locked out for days I wouldnt' be surprised if more people had that problem as time goes on, but i think it's specific to a small number of accounts.

I know that my account was messed up multiple times in it's life over the past 1 1/2 years, when alt would work fine, that's how i ended up with the alt in the first place, but it never took this long to get in.

Least they could do is give us an error message. all the log file shows is that it is waiting to receive data

log-ins still borked 78000 in-world mostly bots prob ...................seems to be weekly sunday nite event...............maybe theres a big bot party goin on?

I'm not only having trouble logging in, but buying Lindens. I can't even use the interface on the site to buy anything.

The logins have been disabled AGAIN - this is becoming far too regular, and it's not an acceptable level of service.

I really feel for those who are having problems right now but think about the majority of us that have not been able to log in at all for the past 5 to 6 days. Your getting annoyed cause of a small break, geeze we would love to be able to as well.. but we have been sitting and waiting for someone to fix their data base up to allow us to be able to log back in

Between being kicked out of Sl for some unknown reason every hour on the hour , the nvidia card ssues that are supposedly being taken care of , and disabled logins , its a wonder any of us are even in world ...

Do you think this is ever going to be fixed ???

Tia.. it's not a contest over who should be most angry.. It's a discussion on the terrible service in general.

I doubt it Minx but before all of this problem started I noticed that Nvidia put out a new driver upgrade (for the 7 version), It was 181.20 and it wasnt giving me any problems at all. Might be worth looking at.

I agree, of course i'm biased considering i am subject to the same issue.


I am not surprised though. But it seems like people post without even reading what's there before. And definitely didn't notice when the original post was made. Oh well.

I am optimistic it will get fixed sooner or later.

It sucks, but there are better things to do with our RL time that we would normally have been on SL. Depending on where you live in RL:

* If the weather is nice, go for a walk.
* Go to the mall.
* Watch your favourite program.
* Read a book.
* Go to your local library.
* Go to a restaurant for dinner.
* Or play another game (well, not to the extent that it will fuel addiction).

Speaking of which, until this server problem gets fixed, I may as well just throw in the towel and do something more productive with my time. And I strongly recommend the same to Danielle Hancroft, as she tried to report for music trivia just a few minutes ago, and she couldn't log in. At least she realizes there will be other trivia events in the coming months that she could participate in.

The final series of rolling restarts is scheduled for Tuesday, so that may be a sign of things to come. If I were you, I would wait until around Wednesday or Thursday to see what happens. If I read that the new version is a success by the weekend, I will download the updated version in a heartbeat. But I will believe it to be true when I see positive feedback posted.


Will that mean I may have to get a better NVIDIA graphics card?

This is starting to get really stupid now. How about hiring someone who could fix your database?

I can´t log in right now too as logins are disabled and it helps me feel a little bit of the pain you guys must feel for the last days. And that reminds me of the thread topic...
If anybody else experiences the same behaviour as described in the thread (unable to connect with main avatar but connection with alt works just fine - main avatar can be logged in from different location) then please submit a support ticket and make a comment on the JIRA at the Meta issue describing this behaviour.

To post a support ticket:

2) Click on: Submit a ticket
3) At the end of the following page click on: Click here to submit a ticket
4) As Ticket Type choose: Special questions - Basic account or Guest login
5) In the next field choose: Account issues
6)And finally choose: I can´t login inworld with my account
7) Please include the link to the Meta-Issue (see below) in your description so that support gets an idea about a possible pattern
