Is there anyone else having problems with login. I have been trying for at least 3 hours now and it seems to stall when it gets to a certain point. I looked in the grid status and found out that there was problems there at one stage as stated below but by this everything is meant to be back and working correctly.

[RESOLVED] Inworld Issues - Logins Disabled

[RESOLVED 3:05 PM PST] Logins have been restored and all inworld services appear to be functioning normally. Please feel free to resume your regular activities, including purchases and rezzing.

When loging in I get the message tho, "On Thursday morning, January 15th, at 7.00am pst we will be preforming a database upgrade. Registration and logins will be disabled fir approximately 15 minutes. See status.secondlifegrid.net for more."

I have recently upgraded my drivers from Nvidia to the 181 version and what I seen the last time I was in game things looked okay, but today I just can't seem to login.

I've noticed that logins get disabled when online pop reaches 73-74K. LL hasn't implemented a queue system like your standard MMO so I guess it's all about trying to relog, relog, relog. I guess they've got serious problems if you've been trying for three hours. It is why I try do my best to never to log out. I stay logged in because logging out leads one to the realization that they might not be able to log back in.

I love the fact that the population keeps growing however I am suspect with the recent influx of bots on the scene. I was at Bear the other day and saw this one "single" dating service just outside of the welcome area full of bots standing there doing nothing...at least 15 of them. Not moving, not talking, nothing. Seriously lame sh!t.

ah welll.....hope you login when you can.

I'm currently having the same problems and am getting stuck at the connecting to region page. ARGH! lindens please do something about bots and let REAL people log in :(

edit: The online population is 60k+. I remembered the last time I had this problem I couldn;t do anything except to wait for the next day when I could successfully log in. Is there an explanation for this problem?

yeah Tomoyo, it sounds as if I am getting stuck at the same spot as you, I just kept at the login and went and did a few things and came back and yeah still at the same spot. This gets so annoying.

One can try logging in at a different place when login fails; sometimes there's a problem with some sims and not others.

Thanks Sue, but yeah I have tried to login some where different with no success, and now its been at least 12 hours since I first tried to get in game. Oh well one day over with a numerous amount of un-installings and re-installings and still nothing but getting frozen when trying to login.

Yes. I don;t think its the computers. Its probably our accounts that go affected cause I tried logging in using 2 diff computers in my house... plus, the other computer has a superb graphic card which can run sims 2 (aka the game tt is the most graphically demamding) perfectly. I submitted a ticket too. My friend told me to google on the topic? Dunno what to google on lolx. Lindens prob wont reply us till SLT morning tmr.. sadface :(

Oh and my friend said that it happened to her for an entire afternoon before. But ours is rather unusual and frustrating. Its past 24 hrs our not able to log in. Hope Lindens do reply soon.

Update the thread if there's any progress or when the lindens reply? Thanks

hey Tomoyo.. I am getting so mad here due to all this. My tier is almost due and I dont want to lose my land. I heard from Lindens and this was their responce to me

There's a possibility that the region you're attempting to log into in Second Life is down for a few minutes (it might be restarting). If Second Life just crashed or you were disconnected, it's possible you're attempting to log in from a bad location.

Try changing your login location and log in again.

If you're running a firewall or firewall/internet security software, it may have a security warning in the background that's interrupting Second Life's login process. You may have to reconfigure or disable this third-party software to use Second Life.

If you're using wireless networking, you may want to try a wired connection.

During periods of high activity, the login process may pause during Connecting to Region. In this case, wait for Second Life to return to the Login screen, or display an error message.

You might also try uninstalling Second Life, then installing it again from http://secondlife.com/download, to remove any temporary files that might affect the login process.

Now I dont know if your problem is exactly the same as mine but when I try and log in it takes forever to do the 60 to 90 second thing at the beginning, then after awhile it gets to that "connecting to region" and there she sits, and sits, and sits until I terminate it. They say to reinstall, I have done that so many times and still no help. They say to start at a different part on logging in, been there and tried that to. I have had something like this happen before but it only lasted a few hours, never this long.

GAH lindens useless or what! Yes Its the same problem! My entire logging in process is the same as yours. Takes forever to pass logging in and just stops at connecting to region. The last time it happened for 12 hrs max for me. The lindens haven replied me yet prob cause I have a basic account. Stoopid computer techinicians.. y cant they just admit there's something screwed with their drivers and techinical stuff again.

AHHHHH! I have a art show in 2 wks and I really need to get in :(

Well they just got me to do a ping test which they said "There doesn't seem to be any major issues apparent from this" and now they want to know just what I have done, whether I have followed their instructions, gawd I hope they have an hour or two so I can tell them everything. They said that once they have "Edit > Preferences > Network > Clear Cache.

If you still have no luck connecting then i will escalate this issue to the next level of support.

So I wonder what the next level of support might be??

Did they say to clear cache? Sorry I didn't really understand. Does clearing cache help? Furry I think you should submit a ticket too. The more people complaining, the more chances lindens will take us seriously. Hah! next level of support? I'm still pissed with lindens.
Why doesn't lindens come in here and start answering our questions already. This is their FORUM?!

yeah I totally agree with you, cause when they see so many having the same problem you would think that helping a group may help... oh yeah the next step is as they say

"I am now escalating this ticket to attempt to find a solution to this issue for you.

Most escalated issues require additional research and may even require direct work by a developer. Therefore, it may take a little while for you to receive an update on this ticket, but please be aware that we are working to get it resolved as quickly as we can.

Thank you for your patience."

Well theres not much more I can do but stay patient, but I really do have to admit they are doing there best with me and I do hope that you are getting the same results as I am

I have the same problem. Can't log in on my main avatar. The funny thing is I can log in fine with my alt, (different account) just fine. This started at the same time LL started their update. I did open A ticket and was contacted by support, but so far nothing they suggested has worked. I too would like to see this resolved soon as I need to get back to my shop and do some work.

I have this exact same problem and have for the same time frame.

One odd thing though. I can log in from a different computer on a different isp just fine but not mine. And this is the second time in about a month this has happened. As previously stated by others, it was resolved on it's own the next day but not this time.

Tomoyo I do not have a premium account.. I first went and put a bug report in and put it under the top priority which was "showstopper" as it was in their suggestion, then I got a message to put a ticket in which I did. They responded straight away, although now escalating to the next level, I havent heard anything back from them but they did say this could take a little time.

Tomoyo

to do a bug report go to

jira.secondlife.com

theres a video there that u just need to watch and it is so easy to follow. When you put in ur priority put it under showstopper as that is the category for inability to log in.

In components I put performance

Sadly I too cannot log in.

I have tried for days now and still can't do it.....Would be nice if LL compensated us for this, paying for a service which is not available????

Have to admit I did manage to log in once during the last 4 days, but the lag was unbearable.
