I submitted a ticket. had a prompt response, requesting me to send the dxdiag information.
I told them it worked just fine on another avatar name, but not this one. The rep again said to send the dxdiag information. i gave in, sent it, immediately got a response back saying PROBLEM SOLVED. update your video driver. ..............................(yes smoke is coming out of ears lol) Hey, people. Dont you even read anything? it works FINE on one account. i tell them all i changed was the avatar name at login. that's it. one works, one doesn't. It even worked on the 13th but does not now. when nothing changed at all. Yeah i immediately reopened it and told them to not blame something that works and to find the real cause. that's why i didn't want to send it in the first place, because all they do is hunt for something else to blame. That's all any company seems to do anymore. I hate level 1 tech reps. all they do is read from a list and dont THINK. |

I'm double posting. Sorry. The reply I got from the lindens for the bug report is the same as yours tia. Gellan Glenelg resolved VWR-11592.---------------------------------- Resolution: Contact Support Please see the [When I log into Second Life, it gets to "Connecting to Region" and stops|https://support.secondlife.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=4417&task=knowledge&questionID=3918] Knowledgebase article. If this does not help, you should contact support, at http://secondlife.com/support DOTS! I already file a ticket before I sumbmitted the bug repot. I dunno what else to do ![]() Hi Tomoyo and hi @all! Please before posting a JIRA issue read the posting guidelines. You will find a link to the guidelines on the JIRA right on the beginning of the page. JIRA is not for support but for keeping track of bugs so all that will happen is that people like Gellan will resolve your issue with a hint to contact support. Sending in a support ticket is the only way to get help. BTW, you will recognize Lindens by their last name Linden. Gellan is just a helpful resident ![]() |

Elle, put in a ticket too. Anyone else having this issue. Please put in a ticket so that maybe we not only get it fixed, but stop it from happening again. This is actually not the first time this issue has come up, and it seems to always affect the same accounts
goto http://secondlife.com/support/ then click on submit a ticket nonpremium accounts need to choose special questions - basic or guest. then just fill in what has * by the field /me hoping this gets fixed soon, i need to finish my new product sigh |

hi everyone!
just now i'm trying to log in again and i'm getting the error of... Unable to connect to SL despite our best efforts, something unexpected has gone wrong... and asks to check grid status... and this the latest from the grid... Technicians are investigating a database issue which may be interfering with several inworld services including teleporting. As a precaution, we recommend refraining from rezzing no copy items or making purchases until the situation is resolved. Please monitor this post for further information and updates. i hope this means that it's kinda improving or something coz i now get an error message instead of just being stocked on connecting to region... |

I am gonna get intouch with Lindens every day until this problem is rectified. This is NO fault of our pc's like suggested before and what they have asked, well me personally to do had me thinking it was this end. By the looks of it our accounts that we all use (main) have been blocked, as simple as that. So if it is simple to block, then why cant they just unblock them?? Now that we have bought there attention to the fact that we CAN log in using a different account I cant understand why this is taking so long to fix.
I dont want to lose this account as I to have spent a lot of RL money into it. I have land tier fees coming up soon and within this account is the payment for that. I have received a few upgrades on certain things but it looks like I have lost out on them to. I agree that we can get of here and do something out there in the RL for a change, but what about the people that run a business within game? that could be their income, and I have put a lot of effort and money into my account and deserve to be able to log in when ever I wish to as long as my pc is capable. If my pc was at fault then I could understand all this but its not. Please Mr Linden, I ask real nice at this stage, give us back our identities. |

Hi everybody!
I feel really sorry for you guys! It´s a shame that you can´t log in. If you please could have a look at the JIRA and add some information there it might help to get you back online as soon as possible. I created a Meta issue for this kind of login problems here: http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-3684. To figure out where the bottleneck (or whatever causes this behaviour) is could you please add as much information as possible as a comment there: Which version of the client are you using? (This can be found in Help, About Second Life) Your full computer specs (Also in Help, About Second Life) What type of internet connection do you have? Wired, or wireless? Your ISP and type of modem/router Where is the login process interrupted/stuck? Do you get an error message? Where do you live? Thank you ![]() And I cross my fingers for you! |

Torben I thankyou for your concerns and really appreciate your help. I just want to ask you something if I may. If we cant log in on our account then why can we log in on a different account name. Would our specs of our computers be different from one account to the other?

Would our specs of our computers be different from one account to the other? Tia, I´m not the expert for stuff of this kind hehe but I know that the login process as well as the other processes to keep us online are quite complex. As far as I know the data for your account is stored on a login server and if a certain group of residents can´t log in from a certain location then it looks like the connection between this specific login server and the specific computer somehow is corrupted. When you create a new account then this account has a good chance to be stored on another login server so the problem might be gone. (But that´s just my Non-Techie thoughts)... Collecting information about computer environment and gathering as much information as possible is just a standard procedure. I personally doubt that the issue is located at your hardware but think it´s some kind of a server/connection issue. |

Check your firewall
01-17-2009 17:38
Yesterday after several hours of login failures, I discovered my firewall was blocking access. So if you're having trouble logging in, I suggest you disable your firewall and see if that's the problem.

Hmmm. Have either of you tried deleting your avatars application data files?
Either search your files for your AV name or look in Windows/ user /application data/secondlife/name... I'm guessing your on windows of some kind. They are also hidden files, so you'll have to turn that on if it's not. Find the folder and delete it. Careful your chat logs are in there, I think. So save/move those if you want. This with will refresh your viewer(and force the login servers to relook at you) for that AV. And this is the only place on your end that is AV specific. It would be worth trying. Other that that it's almost got to be on LL's end. Maybe ghosted in a sim somewhere..? (( this threads a bit confusing, this idea is for who ever here has a log in problem with a specific AV. )) |

So if you're having trouble logging in, I suggest you disable your firewall and see if that's the problem. Thanks for your suggestion, that would be worth checking, if we couldn't login at all. but since we can log in on a different account, just not primary, then it can't be the firewall, and surely not all of us all at the same time. I dont expect much from lindens till tuesday at the earliest on this, so all we can do is wait. if it's not fixed by tuesday, it will be a week. But maybe they will quit having people jump through hoops for an issue that is clearly on their end somewhere Also, the ghosted thing would be possible if i couldn't log in from a different location. yeah it's a whole weird messed up situation and yeah i did rename that folder so it would recreate and no luck ![]() Dont know if anyone else could try that though. |

I cannot log in on my main account as well, but I can log in fine on an alt from the same computer, so this CANNOT be a local problem with my computer, or video card. I suspect that SL is not completing the log in process for our accounts and is just bypassing the process which causes SL to hang at connecting to region.
Linden Labs was able to log in on my main avatar without trouble from their location; however, I still cannot log in from my computer. Linden Labs cannot help me further because I only have a basic account right now! Very frustrating to say the least! This sounds like a network type block, but how could that be when I can log in on an alt! There are no error messages. Second Life takes much longer than normal at the log in point on the progress bar, then hangs indefinitely, (tested for over one hour), at connecting to region. This problem started at the same time as the Second Life Server 1.25.3 upgrade. Nothing has changed on my PC since this problem started, I have checked all ports, confirmed with my ISP that there were no blocks of any kind in place. I deleted the entire Second Life folder in my applications data folder, completely uninstalled Second Life, deleted all the related folders....no joy! This is definitely one for the books! I have also left my comments at the jira link above. Linden Labs really needs to escalate this problem ASAP! I also have a shop to tend to! |
