SensCass: Did You Call for Rape and Murder?

I've seen some personal attacks and forum trolling in my days but this has stepped so far beyond what is acceptable that it might very well be breaking RL laws.

From what I can tell it looks like SenCass might be responsible for the death threats and the call to rape MadZag, based on the fact that they're having an argument over at SLUniverse. I say the folks on the two forums get together and compare IP addresses. If this person is the perpetrator, they should be exiled from SL.

SC drama begins there, not here. I'm getting rather tired of the multiple threads on the same subject to be honest.

You do realise that by bringing it here you're giving the troll exposure and publicity, which is exactly what they thrive on?

You can be a nanny in your forum if you want Lewis but I subscribe to the philosophy that adults should be allowed to make their own informed decisions. I also feel that this issue should be brought to the attention of the Lindens. Death and rape threats from members is absolutely unacceptable regardless of where they take place and they have an obligation to see that this person is removed from the community.

Nothing "nanny" about it, it's called being responsible and taking care of those in your community.

Linden Lab won't do diddle about it, because it's a third party forum and beyond their control.

I would support you 100% with the removal of this scumball from SL but it isn't going to happen.

It's phrased in the subjunctive, moron. Although it doesn't have to be. We all know what's going on.

People who have been coddled their entire lives don't grow up. They just raise other pompous twits.

Uhm, no, she's bringing the criminal activities of a person exposure and publicity, which will lead to their arrest and prosecution for threats, sexual harassment, and such.

The very last thing that something like this needs is /less/ publicity and /less/ exposure and modding and censorship. It needs everyone who runs the individual forums involved, to work together according to their privacy agreements with their individual users, the law, and law enforcement - to locate the person who perpetrated this criminal activity and prosecute them.

That's my opinion - I'm not a lawyer, nor is it legal advice. It is advice born out of previous experience with law enforcement, and the investigation of and prosecution of criminals who use the Internet / forums / IM / whatever to steal, threaten, lie, trick, coerce, bribe, defraud, seduce, stalk - etcetera.

Rape is a crime.

Threatening to rape someone is a crime.

Calling people to rape someone is a crime.

They're disgusting, filthy crimes, and every legally-available effort possible should be made to see to it that the person who did it is caught and prosecuted.

its funny that people are offered a community with total freedom of speech. Then a few people abuse this freedom, and then others use this as an excuse to mock and criticise.

Did anyone bother to check whether the person being threatened actually minded all this publicity of the disgusting threats made against them?

Agreed. It is absolutely unacceptable. I will encourage the folks over at Second Citizen to cooperate with the other forum owners to determine the identity of this person. It should be forwarded to MadZag (and then the authorities) and then to the Lindens.

Would you be willing to forward the unaltered httpd and forum logs to Cristiano for analysis? I'm sure you'd like this cleared up as well and I'm sure he would volunteer to go through the data.
