when i first joined secondlife several months back, i thought of it as a big game, i went griefing once or twice with my moronic now ex-friends on a couple of small, nonmajor parcils, because i didnt know any better.
I regret doing so, and i have even apologised to those who were affected, but i somehow got put on a watchlist of "active griefers", id like whoever owns this "griefer ban-link" thing to know that i am no longer a griefer, or a foolish new user, and that i want a way to redeem my self and be removed from the list. i only griefed once or twice, and now im banned from half of secondlife when i thought id only get in trouble with a couple of private parcils i really didnt care about.
please help, im a builder now, ill do you favors, ill do anything to get off of this list.
"griefer: evidence from YTMND logs" is no longer applicable to me.
im a new guy, and im really not griefer material anyway.
im actually a really nice guy.

im actually a really nice guy. That's unfortunate. However, I seriously doubt if anyone's going to un-ban you, because there's no way to tell someone who was a griefer and learned better, and someone who was a griefer and still is a griefer, and it just lying to get off of the list. You have my sympathy, however you *did* agree to the terms of service when you signed up, so you *did* know that it was wrong, and not something that you should do. My advice is to simply drop this account and get a new alt. I don't think there's really any way to get around it otherwise.

Did DC give you permission to post a private conversation in a public forum? If not, it would be a very good idea to remove it before you get AR'd for breaking at least two terms of service. Bad judgement indeed!

I didn't actually know that any "autobanning rings" existed - I would have thought I would have seen adverts, though the scripting is actually pretty simple to do. It may just be a list somewhere, or a notecard that gets passed around.

Sometimes time in SL has a relative meaning. It's august now right? joining in June is several months back... it's 2006 right? I mean, I forget myself sometimes... If I'd a been counting how by how many times the SL sun has risen, it'd be year 4,597

If I'd a been counting how by how many times the SL sun has risen, it'd be year 4,597 SL day is 4 earth hours long. Thus there are 6 SL days in 1 earth day. He joined on 6/11/2006. That means he's been in SL for 19+31+20 = 70 earth days. Which is 420 SL days. Assuming a SL month is similar to an earth month with average (rounded) 30 days. He would have been in SL for 14 SL months or 1 year 2 months in SL time/date.

Gotta love the pathetic display when griefers pretend not to be griefers. This one claims to feel badly about his past actions, and then turns around and breaks rules yet again by publishing a conversation without permission. Clearly, this is not about any real remorse over having caused emotional harm to other human beings, or about any newfound respect for right and wrong, but about not liking punishment, and wanting to weasil out of it.
Sorry if that sounds harsh, but I've seen some heartfelt apologies in my time, and plenty of bogus ones. This one strongly smells of the latter.

So a furry griefed because he was intolerent of other people who were different how ironic. I have NO sympathy and obviously you have no remorse for your intent just your personal suffering.

The problem with the current blacklist systems is that there is no "Remove" command since the system does not keep a list of who it added vs who the owner added manualy.
A "remove" command could allow griefers back on to your land after you baned them yourself.
I am trying to start a conversation with the "blacklist" providers so that they will provide a standardized link message script interface between there closed source script and the open source part that actualy modifys the land parcel's settings.
My free open source "Weppon scanner" uses a simple but powerful message format that would work well.

From: Havoc Jorgensen i thought you only got banned from the lot you griefed, how was i supposed to know ageplayers would ban me from the serenity woods furry sim! they were human ageplayers! It seems you've discovered a little secret about SL users: We have little patience or tolerance for griefers. To the point where if you cause trouble at some major hangout, it's highly likely that the owner of the place will tell everyone they can find that you were causing trouble there. My advice? Talk to the owner of wherever you were initially banned from, make a sincere apology, and try to get the person to forgive you. Posting on the forums won't really solve anything here, something like this requires a personal touch. All I can tell you is good luck. On a related note, this is why I don't use mass-ban blacklists, regardless of how useful they may potentially be. Unless I have someone's griefing in my personal records collection, anyone who comes on my land has a clean slate with me until they prove otherwise. And thus far, I haven't really been griefed by anyone that I'm aware of.

Ok im just questioning cuz there is a quote after it so he either partially quoted or changed the quote.... Even so like you said they should really have a clean slate on your land unless they prove otherwise. See if your gunna do an autoban list of some sorts even scripted ones work it in the sense to manually add people or use the auto list. But that should kinda be the owners choice with that product If its picking up certain things to ban on anyways.
