From: Huns Valen I have confirmed that email works between LL and harpo in both directions, and inbound XML-RPC is functional as well. This is an oddity. I still can't get it to work from my land in Miramare, however it seems to be working when the email is sent from Moen. I think there is still a few more hitches. Mark - Any thoughts of why it would work from some sims and not others? Do the sims send the email off themselves or does a central mail server handle it?

Do the sims send the email off themselves or does a central mail server handle it? Script email is sent from the individual sims.

Do the sims send the email off themselves or does a central mail server handle it? See if Miramare's machine has reverse DNS. edit: Aah, OK. I got your IM. Miramare's machine actually does have reverse DNS as far as harpo.dreamhost.com is concerned, so that is not the issue. I am not able to send mail to harpo from Miramare, which is presently running on sim814.agni.lindenlab.com. traceroute -I to that address fails at border1.ge2-1-bbnet2.sfo002.pnap.net. I am able to traceroute all the way to Uba, which is sim269.agni.lindenlab.com, and goes through border1.ge1-1-bbnet1.sfo002.pnap.net. Those two simulators are on different networks. Has anyone at LL actually spoken with anyone at DreamHost at this point?

I don't think they have...
I'll forward off the additional blocks to dreamhost and see if they can free those up. Getting closer. *sigh*
/Update (instead of double posting):
I recieved mail back from Brian at Dreamhost stating he will pass on the problem to Jeremy (whom seems to be the network admin). Hopefully this will resolve this last issue.

Problem resolved (take 2)?

I just recieved this: From: someone I found an ACL for that network on our core routers. It looks like it's been there for a while, but there wasn't any mention of why it was added. It was most likely a late-night attempt to stop a flood of some sort that was just never cleaned up. I remove the entry from both of the routers, so with any luck, this whole mess will be done with.
I'll test with Miramare, but this sounds perhaps promising and actually indicates a bit of what happened.
