Nope. If I could justify spending any more per month on what I vew as a hobby/game, then I would actually tier up some more. As it is, I'm comfortable where I am. I'm certainly not put off by the problems which SL has had lately.

I'm considering scaling back (tiering down, I've already stopped developing new stuff for awhile now) as it's becoming increasingly more difficult to create in this world when vechicles break after many months of working, inability to get LL to implement the simpliest of feature requests, LL favoritism, and the continuing technological "issues".
I'm all in support of SL and LL's ability to expand our world, but it's becoming worrysome as of late. I have faith LL can hold our world together, but some other tech savvy people say otherwise. I dunno. _____________________

im also scaling down as i cannot work in the lag and bugs abuot sl... no point owning land as i cannot create events and be sure they will always occur as LL take down the grid at the time i come online.

We are carrying on "business as usual". Garth is working out the details on his most recent plane prior to putting it on the market. We just bought roadside land in Furness and Yelas for new stores. Yesterday Lordfly finished a smashing new store for us in Grignano. Sooo you can see life goes on.

I have tiered down, but it had nothing to do with any SL tech difficulties, just realizing we get more land for less money if we have my husband hold the tier and we group the land. (Lifetime membership)
I'll continue doing what I do in SL for as long as the environment allows, or for as long as I find it enjoyable, or until a bug annoys me enough to make me stop. _____________________

The one thing which makes me more hesitant to buy land now than in the past is the increase in the number of clubs and malls. It's just more likely now that any land you buy will become suddenly useless to you because a club or mall moves next door. Not that I have anything against clubs or malls, but that's the way it works out since there's no control over how much server resources neighbors can use up. When you buy land, Linden Lab is asking you to gamble with your money, and the odds are simply getting worse. I could buy an island if I wanted to, but there's just other toys I'd rather have for that kind of money (e.g. a Wacom tablet, off the top of my head).
For me the one-day downtime wasn't that big a deal. But to answer your question literally, yes, the recent down time did cause me to spend "less time inWorld." ![]() _____________________

I'm considering selling off some, but not because of the recent technical glitches. I'm confident we'll get through them, and that SL will continue to grow. I just have extra land sitting around going to waste.

From my first land experience I tiered down and remain at 1,024. I doubt if I will ever increase that. I'm not giving up on SL, but I'm certainly giving it less opportunity to be a disappointment to me in regards to land and neighbors.

I'm getting ready to expand. Part of the fun of SL for me is having it pay for itself. I'll tier up or down over time based on the success of my business. SL's stability can be a complicating factor, but it's unlikely to be a primary reason for the choices I make. I've been at the full sim tier for a while now and I still have almost 40k meters open for expansion. I'll only tier down when it's no longer self sustaining.

I just dropped down to 16m2 from over 8000m2.
Found I wasn't really using the land and could use the money in real life. So for now the serpents have gone into storage. |

I've been scaling back my participation in SL, but mostly because I'm too busy IRL, LL has nothing to do with it. I'm just flooded with work.

I thought it was all fixed - I was enjoying practising my building again. But now it seems to have broken, and I'm just left with the Urban75 bulletin board that I wouldn't piss on if it was on fire, and it's very boring ...

Yes. I was planning on expanding, but at the very least, I'm going to wait a while for the dust to settle. I might tier back down to the $5 tier.

Yes, I'm seriously considering selling my land after this. Doubt anyone will buy tho, probably just have to cut it as a loss.

I'm only on the 4k tier, but I certainly won't tier up until there's more incentive to do so

tiered down
01-11-2005 11:10
Partner and I tiered down recently from our tiers to our both being 8,192 a piece and grouped. We bought PG Land sold off mine and his Gama land equaling nearly 2/3 the sim. It just wasn't any fun trying to build and lagging with a club over the hill maxing out server resources (or sometimes not even being allowed in the sim because it was full). The resource drain was so much that my neighbors in the next sims Yamota (sp) and Muir were complaining, cause they said their servers were picking up the slack. Is Gama an old server? *shrugs* The recent glitches about not being able to login while quite annoying had nothing to do with our decisions. I loved my Gama land, but I just hated the hassle, and the hassle was there when the club was in full swing.

No way.. I like my land. As a matter of fact, I'm trying to acquire more in my home sim.
