Must we do everything for you?

Yes.

Now, for god's sake, woman... will you fix this tie for me?

Hey I have a novel idea for you ... instead of complaining about what you dont have and how we have it so much better than you, why don't you start designing clothes and accessories for yourselves?

It's not like females are the only ones capable of using PSP and designing clothes in SL is it?

Must we do everything for you?

That makes perfect sense considering everyone in SL has every skill. We can all script like the pros, build like the pros, and god knows we're great at making animations. If you don't have something constructive to post here, please don't post.

What you should get is the Wet Ikon AO device, which I believe is available at Reverie for free, but empty. Then assemble your own favourite standing, sitting and flying poses from various other venues. I got my stands from Bits and Bobs, others from ANOmations or Abranimations. Edit the notecard in the AO unit to determine which poses go where, and load the poses into the AO, and you're all set.

Abranimations was really great, I found about 90% of the ones I wanted! Now all I need is a hitting the ground after falling animation. Thanks Everyone for your suggestions! :D

Wouldn't it be much easier if the default animations were just improved by Linden Lab?

Not everything should have to be left to residents to create (and then get ripped off and sold by a freebie reseller).

Hmmm. Last time I was online I saw someone with a pretty good MIB look that was nice... had style, and wasn't over the top macho. Had I known I'd find this thread I'd have asked where they'd found it.

i make my own clothes. and i look pretty darn good. i hate overly buffed macho av's - and it seems all male av's are more or less like that.

Kinda hard to find restrained male clothing-and-posing in a world where everyone wants to put their best member forward, don't you think?

Oddly I've seen a lot of males around with my AOs. But you guys are completly correct, most of them are macho, gansta, and/or baddly done. I've been working on one slowly by watching how my husband stands but he's a dork so I didn't think anyone would want those sorts of things.

How do males stand? By watching guys out and about they are either macho, gangsta, or just standing there sort of like the default. Its difficult to get creative and make 5 different anims.

And count me as a girl who might like a normal male AO, since all female AOs seem doomed to be hopelessly girly. I do not want a sexy walk, dammit.

5fth Order has some non-sexy walks which I rather like.

As a consumer and creator i have to say both of you have valid points. SL gives everybody the same abilities. It's up to you if you wish to use them, or which things you wish to do if any. The clothing i wear i made them myself. 1 set of clothes that never comes off unless nudity is needed. :p Buti don't expect EVERYONE to know how or want to design their own stuff. part of the joy in SL is the experiance of shopping, and obtaining really well made items that do cool stuff. :)

Having said all that, i'm hoping i'm not the only female avvie who wears the same clothes all the time. :p

I'm not female, but I wear the same clothes all the time too. Just check out my snapzilla pics. I don't like a lot of the clothes in SL for some reason, so once I find an outfit I like, I keep it on until I find another I like. :D

Agree.

The men of sl get virtually nothing. Clothes, AO's, you name it, you have to search high and low to find decent looking items.
I can't understand why there isn't at least a quarter of the items they currently have for females.

The AO at Risque is the best I've seen and you don't have to go around yelling AO OFF/ON either. It also has for sitting and sitting on ground, as well as standing and walking.

I wish more people knew that /1 ao on/off works too! >_<

Remember all the fun items like weapons are pretty much targeted at males. :3

I've actually seen a lot of women with guns holstered to their legs. I think you might be thinking of the griefing males. :p

I didn't say they can't buy them. Men can buy female clothes, you can't really see the difference in-game. But the target group for weapons is invariably men, isn't it?

Well, almost, anyway.

Yeah I guess in the t-shirt business, but most outfits have some kind of texture bending in the breast area so lines still appear to be straight when going over them, this means that no, they wouldn't look the same.

And frankly I think I'd look silly in lowrider jeans and a bustier.

The male AO stands at Reverie are not "shite" as you refer to them. They are simply not made for every male avatar shape. Some males will look more hunched over or their arms might go into their body because they're not fit to those poses. I've seen a lot of men use those poses and look fine because it fits their shape and they tested them first enough to realize that. Just because something doesn't fit your avatar well doesn't automatically make it crap, I know Gwinivere is very good at what she does. It's not easy to create stands for males when you're not one, trust me I know.

I created a stand set for men because I was tired of only seeing the macho kind. I even have a sign up stating that you should test them first because I know they're not going to be suited to every guy out there. My set was also created with a more average size male in mind. My point here is go out and test everything before you purchase. Not all poses and animations will fit your avatar well. Apparently some people don't care because I see many a female or male standing around with their arms going through their body or twitching around with their shoulders breaking. It's all about taste!

Also I don't want to hear that there aren't enough choices for male clothing out there, so many designers have jumped on board. Off the top of my head I can think of FORM by Zabitan Assia, PixelDolls, Laundry in Nakama, DE Designs, Icky Eccleston, Mischeif for men by Janie Marlowe, Nyte Caligari, Barnesworth Anubis, Nylon Pinkney, Blaze Columbia, Elephant Outfitters, Vinson for Men, Jonquille Noir, Ginny Talmasca has a few outfits, Beryl Greenacre, and there are even more I can't think of at the moment. Go explore!

Male aos and poses suck. Plain and simple. I use a walk override to get rid of the 'corncob up the ass' walk and a jump enhancer to not 'splat.' but still cant find a good ao.

Clothes- try Gordian Knot, Made Men, Blaze, and ZVZ.

Gordian Knot is a mall dedicated to mens clothes of many styles, Made Men is vintage/pinstripe/mafia but have more modern urban too. Blaze is mostly suits and tuxes, a nice touch of class, and ZVZ is western.

I also recommend Funky Feetz to both women and men for shoes. Articgrey's cowboy boots are out of this world and women seem to love his heels.

What makes even more sense is that the reason females have all of the clothes, AO's, or whatever else have you in SL, and males have nothing, is because ... we are the only ones in SL that have every skill. We are the only ones that can script like pros, build like pros, and god knows we're the only ones capable of designing clothes and making animations.

Stop it with the complaints and excuses and dress yourselves.

Personally, I think guys look fine in SL. Although I'll not deny that we have a greater variety of fashion and that more fashions and accessories for guys couldn't hurt, I nevertheless still see quite a few guys that put forth the effort and dress very nicely and have really nice style.
