Lol, the sad thing is someone will see that as true art :( I guess I was never born with that artistic sight.

Well art is subjective.
But hey, pay me half that and I'll fashion you something rather similar.
Any takers?

Is this an experiment to see how valuable something will get just because it is one of a kind?

Sweet! As soon as the grid reopens, I'm gonna buy it and hold onto it so I can reap a "huge prophit" on it later.

That sculpture has "passiion," man.

This is a joke right? I could make that in 3 seconds! I call it a scam! Burn it, its not that creative nor thought out. Passion is lacking and for 35K he can BITE ME!

It may be rare and hard to replicate but that doesn't make it art. We could get into a long discussion about what is art, I am not interested in going there. But in my opinion (Bach. Fine Arts & Master of Architecture) this object has little artistic merit.

In addition his offer to sell you the original is false. He writes:

<<This original piece by xxxx xxxxx is a well thought out, well balanced piece of work, made from one prim. many have tried to copy it but none have suceeded in replicating the passiion and expression shown in this piece. be the ONLY PERSON in SL to own the original. RESELL it later for a huge prophit as it appreciates!>>

He could sell you the original directly in SL if he never took it into inventory. How will we ever know if he did or not?

He can't sell you the original thru SLExhange because in order to put the object into his SL box he had to take it into inventory. So the original is or was in his inventory, all he could put in his SL Exhange box is a copy. He may have deleted the original that was in his inventory, there is no way for us to know that. But what he is selling is still at best a copy.

I am not sure it is even possible for him to set the SLExhange box to sell you the copy that is in the box, it will probably keep that copy in the box and sell you a copy of it. So what the buyer is getting may be one more step removed away from the original.

This original piece by Axel Truss is a well thought out, well balanced piece of work, made from one prim. many have tried to copy it but none have suceeded in replicating the passiion and expression shown in this piece.

be the ONLY PERSON in SL to own the original. RESELL it later for a huge prophit as it appreciates!

why wait?

Prims : 2
Ok, OK I *know* it has a base, but still.

But full marks for trying!

Oh yeah, also

Do you think they mean a huge prophet? Cos I'd much rather have one of those in the first place. Think of the conversation starter it would be!

But in my opinion (Bach. Fine Arts & Master of Architecture) this object has little artistic merit.

And though you may have had a slightly different curriculum, with that degree you surely had it drilled into you that nobody is better 'qualified' to judge art than anybody else ;D The definition is within the viewer, no?

I am *not* trying to start the 'is this art?' argument because it makes me want to tear my eyes out! Just thought it was funny that you'd bring that out as a back-up when most such courses place heavy emphasis on tearing down the 'qualified critic'.

Anyway... I wouldn't buy it cos I think it's pretty ugly :D That's as deep as I like to take it.

My favourite part:

"... made from one prim."

then at the bottom "Prims : 2 "

Am guessing it's one prim for the "art" and the other is the stand for it ^^;
