Easiest - and you must remember your secret word of course .. .mine are ”Philip my love” btw:-D - are to go to page:

www.secondlife.com/password

Then click on the link: Email no longer active? Click here.

You get directly to the question.. It worked fine for me..

/Tina - that are in SL now again - so far...

Last night it didnt have that lost email ability. this is new. also im very thankful for it. I still have a few accounts that wont validate though. Most of them worked but these few of them just imediatly went to the "you must call us to validate this account" page... They were just trash alts anyway so it doesn't bother me.

The new validation methods are insane. If you know an avatar's home location or tier you can take over the account in a minute right now.

Unless I'm missing something, which I hope.

You're missing the part where they need to have access to your registered email.

But they have that, right?

1 - You enter a name of an avatar you know the home location of.
2 - An email is sent to their account but you don't care, you just click the 'click here if you lost your e-mail address'
3- You get on the page where the home location of the avatar is asked.

It can't work like that. :P Every big account would be stolen already.

my parents always told me "they day you stop beleiving in santa is the day he stops briging gifts"

27 years later i still beleive in santa, eventho he only visits my parents house, and uses the same paper as they do :D

Santa Claus is like the vodun loa: of course he exists. He just possesses people at random throughout the month of December, to get them to do his buying for him.

It does seem so though. The subject is on the Linden blog (comments) and LL is not denying and other people are affirming.

An answer from Robin

It seemed some were able to get through using that link but others weren't so I asked the question in Second Life Answers which Robin was kind enough to reply to.

Seems to me it's not as easy as it seems at first glance.

This new method doesn't work for me, so I must be one of the unlucky ones.

But as I *do* know my security question answer, and my email is still valid, i'm somewhat annoyed that I still can't change my passwords.

Just send me my emails, and no it's not in the spam filters, this alt recieved his but not my main or my other alt.

Actually, I consider that to be pretty much the truth. Which is why I believe in Santa Claus.

Also, my girls went to the real Santa Claus for some years. And he really was! (Of course, in the much the same sense as above - except, in his case, more so.)

I've just been looking at this, and I totally have to agree, this is very very scary.
