Not the heroic altruist I had hoped for perhaps, but a constructive member of the community that has *some* kind of loose association with W-Hat. It would be cool to know what she/he thinks themselves though.

My original goal was to supply a steady stream of Warhammer-related merchandise for the populace, but then my connection and old computer puttered out on me. That was six months ago. Been trying to come back to start making War40k merch again, but Dawn of War kinda did it for me already. Ran a record store prior to that called Exiled Japan records which sold a grand total of one record.

What have I contributed? Nothing overly positive, nor anything remotely negative. I was too busy to bother with scripting (can't make anything malicious) and was only just getting better at modeling. So what does that make me? I'm an SA-goer, and I got along marvelously with people like Masa and Huns. The W-Hat bases (the old ones) were hilarious trainwrecks of comedy, extreme bad taste, inside jokes and talented modeling. Why wouldn't I have stuck around with this bunch? Don't read too much into things that are more dada-ist nonsense and less meaningful metaphors.

There's quite a few more. WoccaWocca Kuhr has organized several fun events (Battlebots and some Thinker's meets). Several of the 'hats have a flair for making unusual and fun items, many of which are for sale at the Arcolith Project, although many have opened stores elsewhere (such as BAZ).

It's just, as always, bad news gets more press than good news. I'm not by any means saying that the 'hats are a bunch of saints, but they range from rational to raving.

Also, most of their builds are actually kind of amusing if you don't have a stick up yer end. (Not implying anything about you specifically, Dianne; just that I find more wry amusement than shock and awe over 90% of the W-hat builds I've seen.)

Since the bitching is rising up here, and because I'm too lazy to find a proper thread...

Here we go again. All SL being upset again and having a field day. All because of a theoretically really simple safeguard, accidentally (not) triggered by some screwery (a.k.a. it failed), because it's buggy as hell and ineffective. How hard can it be to implement a goddamn generations counter? Oh wait, I forgot... it takes LL a freakin' lifetime to implement a rather minor patch, and still hasn't managed to get downtimes below the 12hr mark either. Gee, why am I surprised?

And lets not even cut into the general douchbaggery that happens in this game. The freakin' game is all about virtual sex. Est. 50% are furries, est. 33% is all about BDSM, yet people are getting permabanned because some douchebags in this game can't stand some out of the ordinary creativity. On a mature sim. On the adult grid. Inbetween their breaks from humping a sexball with some furry avatar with 7 scripted cocks.

A luck I prefer to bother with EVE Online meanwhile, short of SL rebooting my machine all the time because it hates ATI cards. At least I can shoot the hemorraging retards in EVE.

I am not in W-hat anymore. I was but I left due to very hard pressure from a few "friends." (Who I don't even talk to anymore). I am not some altruistic person who gives out free stuff to people (unless I am cleaning my inventory!). Still, I own over 8k meters of land and have been IW for about 18 months. Never been banned, got one warning because I was online at the same time as someone in a group was doing jerky things (NOT W-hat go figure hey). I still hang out on SA daily, group with SA people in EQ2, and chat with W-hat people once in a while (not in game much lately). Is that "good enough" for you Dianne?

Don't judge a group by a few people who are in it. Do you know how many members of W-hat there are? Probably not since it is a unlisted group. Heck, I don't know. But if say...2 people do something stupid/griefing/blah blah out of say 400 (based on the number Maza used in a different thread), that means there are still 398 members who AREN'T griefers. The KKK comparisons are ridiculous. W-hat is formed as a social group of people who have something in common, a website they belong to. SA/goons do this is many many games. Not just SL by any means.

As to their humor, yes it can be lowbrow at times. Not everything has to be kittens and sunshine or old paintings in an art museum. I find somethings on SA hilarious and others lame. Just like I find some builds in SL stupid and others brilliant, regardless of the group that made them. I think this is what Ren was referring too. Not the person who crashed the game. W-hatters who are making silly builds.

Does get fucking outside once a while now mean playing online games like EVE and WOW? I had images on a beach at first. Just trying to keep current here.

I would actualy like to ask why do many ppl and this is not just saying whowver in the W-Hat group hate Furries? True we may be everywhere by now in SL and Im not gonna say that none are greifers coz ive seen some but we usualy leave yall to yalls own self.

Personally, I think the SA "hate" of furries is overdone. It is more of a forum joke at this point. Same as the forums will raze you for spelling ridiculous "rediculous" or how sciencetology is looked down upon. There are people on SA who like furries or are a furry (and W-hat members for that matter).

I think a lot of people's perception is based on that one CSI episode. So yeah, that would turn a lot of people off. Just like basing BDSM from their one episode would be (not that they are similar necessarily at all!).

I most certainly am not. I'm the one who was thinking beach (not bitch) which is outside.
