I'd like to see Linden sponsored projects make a come back.

However I'm thinking more along the lines of Proposal's. Back before 1.2 and drama, there would constantly be "Proposal For Linden Sponsorship" posts. These would consists of ideas that residents couldn't get started on their own, and either a group, or one person looking for more people to help, would be going for this shared idea.

Bright Side:

- Interesting builds, that may have otherwise fallen without help.

- Groups, users, get a chance to show off their skills.

- Other stuff Ulrika mentioned.

Down Side:

- LL takes a chance with money spendure, and time.

- Group projects, unless the group has been working together for some time, can fall through easily.

However! If we're talking about stuff like the LL contract for the Recruitment center, yah, more stuff like that would be cool. One-time bids to show off your "skillz".

More however, Ulrika, you mention Bedazzled and your own Neutleburg(sp, appologies if thats spelled wrong I'm tired and looking it up just doesn't fetch me :P). Group projects that succeed are rare in general, alot of them lack the right mix to get things done, or to even stick together (as I've mentioned before). While LL could be lucky and find yet more talent, they could also falter and lose time/money/effort. However, LL has taken chances and succeeded in the past.

I think an idea like a group getting a rented land for awhile, to do a project, then once they're done they can either buy the land, and continue the project, or the land is sold off. Say maybe a 2-3 month free-rent period? Or some such?

It could be done right. Either way, I'd like to see more of it. :)

I've decided to lead by example! I'm creating an opportunity for citizens to participate in an Ulrika-sponsored build. :)

It's the same opportunity that LL gave me with Neualtenburg many months ago, except at the end of the four month lease, folks who accomplish what they propose can actually win the land. (I'm putting up US$100 in land out of my own pocket.)

The contest involves writing a proposal. The top five selected will be leased land (having to cover the land-use fee only) with four months to implement their proposal. At the end, we'll judge the creations and award deeds to those who met their goals.

If you know any creative newcomers to SL, please pass this information on to them. :)

Is this kind of thing sort of back, what with the Lindens hiring residents and playing middle man with projects like Wells-Fargo?
