I just settled into my new house in Blumfield...sort of. I'm trying to decorate it as best I can with what we're allowed to use in prims... I have a couch, chair, fire in the fireplace, a lamp, a rug, four shades on windows...and one lounge chair outside...in total...they all add up to 43 prims. My house has 64...I don't understand why I'm being rejected from continuing to build... As it is 117 is hardly enough to decorate on 512 m plot of land....sigh. And nothing is in my bedroom. LOL! How is everyone else coping?

I suggest shopping for "low prim" furniture.
There are several shops that specialize in this feature.

How is everyone else coping? I wonder, can you change homes? I am surprised they made the houses such high prim. I was there a couple of weeks ago and I did see one that was 39 prim. Damani has a low prim house that is like less than 30. Don't get me wrong, the houses are nice but they shouldn't be half your prim allowance.

43 + 64 = 107. Sounds like a bug to me if you can't fit them on a 117 prim plot ... I'd bug report it.

You can remove that home and put one of your own choosing (or building) on there. The requirement for the homes was they be only about 50 prims. I don't recall seeing one there that was 64 prims, but I could be wrong. It could be there are objects on your land that don't belong to you that shouldn't be there. Click on your land, select "about land," and then "objects." Under that, click on "refresh list." It will then tell you how many objects are on your land, and who they belong to. If you see objects belonging to someone you don't know, just select "return" to return them to the person they belong to. I've also found sometimes things that were not visible. I saw them when I checked "highlight transparent," and was able to locate them and get rid of them that way. Yes, the prim limit is sucky, but you can find houses with smaller prim limits. Just put the house you have back into your inventory, and you will still have it if you change your mind. I have seen some 12-prim houses, and there is by Damani (sp?) that is very nice for just 12 prims! And then the same considerations come into play regarding furniture, so you'll want to consider the lowest possible prims in furniture, as well. This actually turns out to be a pretty good incentive for learning how to build, so you can make your own. Or you can sometimes take apart other furniture, and remove any extra prims you don't need. (You can do the same with your house, too, by the way - just be sure to keep an extra copy of it in inventory in case you mess up.) coco P.S. Look for me on at night sometime, and I can come help you get rid of prims, if you like.

If you try to add objects that will take you over the 117 they will not rez..so since you appear to have used 107 already, if you are trying to rez an 11 or more prim item you won't be able to!

Even if you had 10 prims left, if you tried to put out an 11-prim object, you'll get that error. So even though Lo's math is right, you will not be able to place anything that has more than 10 prims.

The trees shouldn't count; and anything that is counting against your prim allowance should show up under About Land/Objects.

I don't get it. Why are people always so reluctant to buy land when they spend ten times that much money on things like coffee and tobacco?

From: Eggy Lippmann I don't get it. Why are people always so reluctant to buy land when they spend ten times that much money on things like coffee and tobacco? Because we don't get the shakes when we don't have enough virtual real estate.

I checked several of the houses in Blumfield...and after checking the land prim count, theypretty much the same or around the same... I even highlighted the transparency and nothing unusual was there...Thanks for trying to help me...I guess it's back to the drawing board for me... I wish they'd raise the limit of prim usage...it would make for so much better and more creativity and fun in our homes Thanks again. I'll keep your name in mind for help IW...LOL From: Cocoanut Koala You can remove that home and put one of your own choosing (or building) on there. From: Elspeth Withnail The trees shouldn't count; and anything that is counting against your prim allowance should show up under About Land/Objects. Aren't trees 1 prim? Anyway.. When I was living on a 512sq m lot the only way I was ever happy was when I built it all myself.. I had a single story house with 2 rooms.. A bedroom and a main room.. Fires are quite prim heavy.. I never had any need for one, but if you live in a snow sim I suppose it might fit.. Basically if you want to live with nice (high prim) furniture, and things like fires and lamps, you're probably going to have to have a bigger plot than 512.. To live on a 512sq m plot.. You're probably going to have to hunt for a very low prim house, have low prim furniture, and not have many things like those fires and lamps again.. Ingrid makes some very nice low prim houses.. /invalid_link.html You may find renting suits you better too.. Anyway, hope you find the best way for you

Trees are 2 prims intersecting each other in an X shape. (Except for some 3-prim shrubs I saw in one mall.)
The prim limit is the very reason I strove to build my own prim-conserving house builds, which caused many people to throw up their hands and lunch and decry as abominations.

I would love to be able to have loads of land for this reason...

The prim limit is the very reason I strove to build my own prim-conserving house builds, which caused many people to throw up their hands and lunch and decry as abominations. For this reason, I'd love to eventually have more land. I do want an extravagant house and enough prims allowed so that I can have the elaborate furnishings too. This isn't the real world, so if I want to dream, it should be big...right?

They are Linden trees

From: Zapoteth Zaius Linden trees are one prim.. If I remember correctly.. And if she didn't place them, chances are they are Linden trees.. Yep they are Linden trees. They were there when I arrived. According to what I saw when I went into land and checked the prim usage...I have 1 prim left for a whole bedroom. LOL! Now if THAT doesn't get ppl to want to come to our small community what will? I'm just kidding. That was humorous sarcasm... Most of the people who I know and who I invited to SL, have belonged to other VR worlds and LOVE decorating. This will not make them happy...sigh.
