Actually this is a privately owned world, so there doesn't have to be free speech if LL doesn't want there to be. _____________________

Why Do People Always Talk Like This (Caps For The First Letter Of Each Word)? Are They Not Sure What To Make A Capital So They Make Them All?

It's not your cause - people have been arguing about this for months. I wasn't here at the beginning of SL, but the general problem of finding something you don't like in your field of view is years old. The Bush signs are just a specific instance of a general problem. People who want to read about the history of the" ugly stuff in my view" problem can use the advanced search function and search the forum archives, using terms such as "ugly build", "grief build", "ugly sign", and the like. Reading how people have tried to deal with the problem in the past might help a person to figure out how to deal with it in the present. One example of a mainland area that doesn't seem to be afflicted with unwanted tiny plots with ugly things on them is Luskwood in the Lusk sim. How do Michi, Liam, eltee, Mina, & Arito keep a large area looking they way they want? What other areas in the mainland are there similar places where landowners successfully work together to maintain a common vision for the area as a whole? _____________________

GET OVER YOURSELF You should have ended that sentence with a period. Oh, and take caps lock off, or people might think you were getting upset. |

You know, you could help by sending a letter to your congressional representative demanding that Bush be impeached - I imagine impeaching him would help get rid of the signs: http://www.impeachbush.org/site/News2?page=NewsArticle&id=5092&security=1&news_iv_ctrl=1041 _____________________

I voted for President Bush. He did the job I sent him there to do: keep the Democrats out of the White House for two terms.
Anyway, the signs aren't anti-American. They're anti-Bush. There's big difference, chief. Moreover, the expression of someone's opinion is a constitutionally-protected right. If you're feeling like your rights are somehow being infringed, I think you need to re-take your civics class. The impeach Bush sign spammer is a dirtbag. You can ascribe plenty of negative things to him without resorting to such inaccurate, self-righteous crap. I think they'll be able to help you out here: http://teen.secondlife.com/ _____________________

I like that Linden Labs has not given into the mob. I like that the fact that because they continue to exist I know I still have the right to do whatever I want with my land. I like that, quite unlike the signs of the past that people bitched about, these are all phantom and disappear when you click on them.
I don't like that, after talking to the guy for a while, he seems to actually believe in what he is doing since this means he is not the greatest SecondLife troll ever. I do still hold out hope that he just plays an amazingly perfect straight man and thus is an even greater greatest SecondLife troll (ever). I also don't like that I am now confronted on a daily basis by how many people have little interest in protecting speech and instead seem to get rather excited about protecting a view that, quite frankly, was never really any good to begin with. I am also disappointed that so little blame is placed on people who sell the small plots of land he uses. Try to think about your own responsibility for the problem the next time you release 32 m^2 so that buy that other plot of land without tiering up. Perhaps you should have taken a few moment to go around to the other land owners in the sim and seen if they would take it off your hand, to preserve your view and all that. _____________________

Someone knows how to copy and paste really, really well. Sorry had to point out the redundancy of the threads that he keeps starting. I appreciate when redundancy is pointed out. I'm as compulsive about it as Myron Reducto is when it comes to tiny things. ![]() Seriously, however, the negative vibes... can't let 'em wash over you (meant non-specifically) and possess you too, resulting in more rage. It's a poison, something that upsets and makes mostly rational, reasonable people show off their worst to others--bringing themselves down in the process. ![]() _____________________

Prak, in the these forums free speech is the term used by people in order to justify themselves when they say or do something stupid. If someone else does that however, it's griefing. It's obvious what Bush guys intent is, but it does fall under free speech. If the SL community had a different mind set and create a certain standard {not anything harsh, but something along the lines that would remove Bush guys builds} that both community and LL can agree with, this wouldn't be an issue. And if that were the case, I would have no problem with it be being removed. However the way things are, the Bush signs can't be removed without complete chaos.
Someday everyone in the forums won't be a self proclaimed defender or justice, an expert on economy, or a master of politics. Instead we will go by common sense rather then everything or nothing, right or wrong, and black and white when it comes issues. |

Perhaps you should have taken a few moment to go around to the other land owners in the sim and seen if they would take it off your hand, to preserve your view and all that. I agree 100% with this statement. Especially the bolded parts. There has ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS been people complaining about other people ruining the view, be it big black box clubs or giant King Kong statues or smokestacks or whatever. THIS IS A FACT OF SL LIFE. Yeah, this guy is doing it to sell land at an outrageous price, but he's not putting a gun to anyone's head (which WOULD be extortion). Best way to make him stop doing it? Quit buying the land and giving him a reason to continue. Quit running to LL about it - they're not here to hold your hand, make sure your neighbor's land stays pristine, or play King Solomon to every person that just can't abide a single day (or, in your case, 30+ at the most) with a blue box in the sky. _____________________
