Are there any "land trust" places that are taking new members?
New user reading the many threads about the Impeach signs may not be aware that there are places to "rent" land from other users, and this arrangement seems to prevent this sort of problem. You will most likely have to sacrifice some freedom in regards to what you can build and what you can do on your rented land, but in return you may get to look around and not see anything that bugs you. Plus according to what I read the price is better than buying land and paying tier to the Lindens. I've been to Blueman Steele's Prim College build, which is on rented land, and the arrangement seems to work for him. The area has builds that look "normal". The problem of people within your desired draw distance from your parcel putting something there that bothers you is not new, it is as old as the virtual hills, and doesn't need to have anything to do with signs or free speech and doesn't need to have someone acting from malice or spite in order to exist. All it takes for this problem to occur is for people to have a difference of opinion about what looks good and bad. _____________________

I live right next door to Blue's Prim College I love it up there I haven't had a single problem with anyone since I moved there  _____________________

So To The Linden's, Just Don't Worry About It I'll Take Care Of It Myself..........Wanna Take Away My Freedom Of Speech Now What's a personal attack on your rights? The Impeach Bush signs? How exactly are they infringing on your rights? Which rights? Why aren't you going to let the Anti-Bush remarks die? I personally would love to see the Impeach Bush signs just die. While you're at it, why not try to get financial reparations from Linden Lab as well, since these signs are apparently so harmful they even cause cancer. I know the signs are annoying, I don't like them any more than anyone else does, but honestly, the hysteria over them is worse that the signs. LL has established they will not remove them on freedom of speech grounds - so instead of just feeding someone who obviously wants attention and acting like these signs are just so violently horrible that they even managed to kill your dog and your first born, try having some perspective. People have made the problem far worse than it was all on their own. Well said, I agree. _____________________

You know, you could help by sending a letter to your congressional representative demanding that Bush be impeached - I imagine impeaching him would help get rid of the signs:

Well i didn't want to be offensive to anyone so i thought i would ask who actually does like them. i like to hear both sides of the story. if you like em enough i know where you can buy two nice ones for L32,000 around my house and they come with 32 sq meters of land too.

It's not a question of who likes them - it boils down to who arbitrates what you can do on your own land.
I think they're a pain in the arse and the guy is profiteering (I think some are using 'extortion' - but I don't think it is - in the literal sense of the word). But ultimately I think I'll stand by LL's judgement on it - because I don't particularly like the idea of what amounts to mob rule dictating what someone else can build - so long as it's within the TOS. So - dunno if that answers your question or not. It's not a matter of 'liking' more of suffering. _____________________

I agree with the message but I think it's horribly mean to put them in the background of people's hard work, it is tasteless and crass, but it's legal and if we censor it, or expect it to be censored, you might be in for a rude awakening when your own opinions and methods of free speach are censored. You really don't want to go down the path of censorship, everyone loses on that one.
