Paying so much on a game that doesn't work well, lag is awful, you can't make complaints, or ban property and on top, people abuse with bombs!!!!!

there is a known exploit with the ban lines,also if you get a object to go underground with your avatar,you can move under the ground on the parcel you are banned with that object

I'm guessing that "foreigners" is only one on a long list of reasons that is blamed for not having an income which would accomodate the purchase of a computer capable of running SL properly. Of course, I wouldn't expect to find any personal deficits to be included on that list.

What I'd like to see is that if you AR someone, then they should automatically go onto your lands banned list, get ejected and all their items returned/deleted. I feel that this would allow land owners who are dealing with constant griefing issues to both file an AR while dealing with the wretch, all in one neat blow. No more having to make a choice of what to do first and all that.

This would actually save the Lindens a lot of time too, as they wouldn't have to be called out to deal with the idiot and his/her litter. I think I'll *gasp* make a proposal and see what happens.

Try this -

Divide your land so that you have small 16m2 blocks around in places where you want people to be able to change or whatever. Mark these areas as changing areas or something. You do not have to change group ownership or other aspects of the smaller parts of your land.

On the main part of your land, disable scripts, object creation, and push.

Back on the 16m2 plots you created before, set autoreturn to something like 5-10 minutes and make sure that push is disabled.

That's it. Your land is not grief-proof - just harder to use by most griefers. This approach stopps most griefing attacks from even starting yet provides areas where people can change and do what they usually do at Free Dove. If the griefers figure out that the can still start attacks from your 16m plots, disable all funcationality there for a while too.

Make it harder for someone to start griefing, and they'll likely move on.

Moreover, as the land owner, you have the ability to Freeze someone. Just right-click the person you want to freeze, and look through the pie menu (under More I think) and freeze them. The freeze lasts for 30 seconds - but you can keep on re-freezing long enough to eject or call for help or disable certain land options, etc.

By the way - great work with Free Dove - I refer a lot of new residents there. You, and others like you, are doing great things for new residents - don't be discouraged. SL changes all of the time, this too will pass

And griefers desire only one thing, and that's to get a reaction, with you going on the forums and starting a thread about it, I can guarentee you just made that griefers day and he's most likely laughing his ass off and planning to do it again.

Really, an even better solution (Especially now that there's free accounts without CCs) than banning a griefer from the grid, is not playing into their game and just ignoring them, they get bored and find someone else to grief.

You forgot Louisiana in the good ole USA... them Cajuns speak French better than they speak English. Oh, and there is Northern Maine and parts of Vermont in which French is spoken more than English.

To those thinking this is a foreigner, think about it. When people mouth off in anger, they don't normally use foreign slang, like the term mentioned by the OP. That term is an English slang word. The griefer was most likely to be a native English speaker, and using Bable Fish, or Fish as available in the newest Multi Gadget (and i've seen them sold for 1L recently as a promo) or even the new translator gadget called Babbler... which i picked up for free last night. In fact, i dare say the griefer was, and i am ashamed for my own country to say this, but i believe he is an American... like me.

Well, as a matter of fact, the thread was made to express my feeling about the way griefers are beeing handle in SL and how rotten is all this.

I am NOT trying to encourage griefers. I am encouraging others to get to know where the problem is. Many people from the thread have IMed me asking for his name to put in their ban list. Helps a bit to stop these griefers from enjoying parts of SL. If I can try to help stop a tiny big of this nonsense, I will do anything I could.

I dont think I am "making a griefer's day" either. As you can see, many of us that have responded here are helping each other in stopping situations like the one I went thru. Maybe he is laughing but I am laughing also because I for sure let others know about the low griefing mentality he has.

Sometimes when we are all be united we could reinforce our ideas and stop all this. If I keep it to myself it wouldn't help at all. Same as any thread in forums. When we express what we feel about SL it helps to deal with what can come ahead of us......

We need a way to remove the griefers ablity to do anything.

We need some way of blocking and returning/deleting all objects entering a parcel that are owned by someone on the ban list.

We could do this using scripts if we had one simple function.
