Wow, Blaze has changed his trolling format due to the fact there is currently nothing to complain about. I do admire your efforts to keep reinventing yourself. It is almost like watching the great Anshe forum turnabout of 2005 all over again. *golf clap*

I am disappointed Blaze. I at least expect you to comment on the fact LL is aggressively seeking new customers when the current system cannot handle the customers they have. I mean really can that asset server handle one more bit of hoochie hair? Doubtful. I guess we will just have to wait for the alcohol enhanced geekfest effect of the SLCC to wear off, and people to stop feeling special because they met a Linden for things to get back to normal. I give it a week or when 1.7, like almost every other update, eats some inventory.

The sincerity or intent of a poster can be a point upon which to react or not. For some the motive and intent of the poster are of prime concern as it is the basis upon which they will decide their next move and response. Another is to react to the ideas presented, address the words for their face value, with an understanding that the best way to dispel underlying currents is to pay them no mind. The many ways to approach the forum are as varied as there are ways to use SL.

I propose that oldbies be forced to forsake their hootchie hair and let the new kids have a turn since the asset server can't handle it. It will boost the economy as new people mob the Lindex in order to buy and wear hootchie hair while they're still young and beautiful.

Margret you are genius. I will pull out my never sold slider braid hair and give up my dreads. I mean anything for the children, I mean the newbies. ;)

Eboni, we all game the forums.

The only difference amongst us, is that some of us do it honestly.

If people honestly think blaze is faking it / doing an image makeover / whatever, how exactly does calling him names help?

Some of us aren't trying to play a game of "gotcha", by creating threads intended to "out" people for their "true selves".

Some of us simply post what we feel, and nothing else.

There is nothing "honest" about admitting to using subversive tactics and alts to "game the forums."

I thought calling alts names was free game  Has "Dealing with an Alt: A Users Guide" been changed? I need a new copy then.

However, this thread has shocked me in that so far the number of those who have lost inventory exceeds those who haven't. I did not expect that at all, and that adds to my anger at this issue.

Well, just as in dealing with the data we use in rl on our PCs, the answer is BACKUP, BACKUP, BACKUP. The real problem is that we have no way to locally back up our inventory.

Perhaps we should make a suggestion that LL add a function to the client that downloads an encrypted file to our local HD that contains not only our inventory, but all the aspects of our account, which then can be restored in the event of a data loss?

So, in all fairness, I should disregard whatever anyone says a Blaze thread because they are posting under duress therefore personal accountability and self control cannot be expected ?

If Blaze doesn't have his fingers on the pulse of SL, he sure knows where its buttons are! :D

Sure, it would only be fair to apply that type of reasoning across the board.

I try to give Blaze the benefit of the doubts on these kinds of threads and just post what I feel about the topic at hand. If he is actually being sarcastic, so what, it doesn't change the point o fthe original thread, or the sincerity of my answer.

Speaking out on behalf of someone who's not likely to know he's been maligned. Merwan has had his share of negativity here, but I well remember his many "excellents!". I don't think this thread was intended to be a place to shout out and name names.

Excellent!

And for once I'm going to claim my midbie status and keeping my prim hair! I haven't worn slider hair in about a year, it would cause me severe emotional distress to have a permanent bad hair day.

As a week late response to your question concerning my take on Blaze's spot(s) in the forum, this best describes my view.

Yeah, honestly, blaze doesn't even count as a real person to me anymore, since he has made it so plain that he is an alt that exists for someone's personal amusement.
