For anyone interested, theres a huge "firelane" of sims down right now in the south-east corner of the map. I wonder if this is a containment strategy?

Pardon my ignorance but I have yet to memorize every 0289572390435 sim there is in SL...care to point where the attack is in relation to the shield...is it south east or north west?

This is the view from Ricx Jewelry :P

Is this why no one could teleport to Ricx earlier today? or is that another problem altogether?

Indeed. Philip Linden poked his head in Live Help channel and confirmed (publicly) that is precisely how it was contained.

Neat. :) I was wondering what that was, which is why I popped on here. :)

I would guess, once the object is identified LL can send message links to all sims.

if llGetObjectKey = TRUE..shutdown the sim.

On this note - did anyone else recieve an unsolicited inv object in the last few days?

Yes I did, but I got an email that omeone offered me inventory. When I logged in though I was not asked whether or not I wanted to accept it so I have no idea what it may have been.

LOL. Well I'm often critical of LL, but I have to give them credit when its due, and seems they did a good job containing this moronic "me too" attack.

I find it hilarious that the guilty party is probably sitting at home in front of a monitor crying right now cause his little prank failed to do much damage.

My guess would be a notecard or snapshot. They seem to go direct to inventory rather than appearing on screen, if they arrive when one is logged off.

What do you mean "me too"?

It's more like a "still me".

Now, you ask, how could I be sure that the seeming innocent groovily named Groovenstein was anything related to W-Hat? Because he was with the group that said cried “Plastic Duck says ‘hi,’” when they griefed in Ross. And the signature is there – please, spare me. (Groovenstein is in fact dr_groovenstein from the Something Awful Forums
– Undercover Hat)

It's time we sent the lawyers and take people to court.

If you log onto somethingawful you'll find they have posted the script which causes this havok.

No doubt this is just another w-hatter getting himself banned.

I think it's south-east of there. There were about 70 (if my math is right) sims that were completely broken off from the mainland when the strip went down.

Now, my question is, did the fire lane pop up automatically, or did someone have to run through the server room flipping switches?

LOL! :D

What is more funny is that the little prank is probably in his 40's - 50's and lives in his moms, and dad's basement and has no job! :D

Just do a search for the W-Hat Fan Club in "Groups"....

Ban 'em from your lands. Simple.

My question is, if you know you are going to release a billion textured balls onto the grid, how come you dont take the ten minutes to sphere map the texture so it doesnt look so bad?

These guys are lazy as well as stupid. :)

I met him on the Help Island, seemed nice enough, although he admitted being sent from SA.

I'm gonna sell a new item..."the wall" rezzes a 2000 meter tall wall...would work really nice against those things if placed on a sim edge.
