this is what scares me about the forum closures. We won't be able to get help from e/o about what to do, and we will have less options for getting help and responses from the Lindens.

I can see Linden Lab's telephone system getting swamped when the forums are obliterated.

Mind you, I've never managed to get a human yet whenever I've called, and of course they never call me back, possibly because I'm overseas, possibly because they never actually listen to the messages and action them.

Customer service must improve in so many ways it's not even funny. When people are paying for a service, ie playing the game, we are entitled to support, and if it isn't there people will just either quit, or give up trying to fix it - both losing much needed revenue for Linden Lab.

It is in their own interests to keep us happy. One dissatisfied customer can do a lot of damage if they have contacts in the right places to spread it.

This may sound like a joke, but I'm quite serious in this.

Copy/Paste the e-mail onto an Abuse Report and AR the Abuse Team for harassment.

From all I can see, it's either one big mistake, or harrassement from not doing thier job to find out the real facts. I'm betting someone doesn't like furries, or that you happened to tick some idiot griefer group off by getting them banned, and they filed false AR's agaisnt you. I'm thinking that a vast number of AR's on the same thing are looked at by the AT and those are the ones they act on. If so, they really should look into things better.

Quite frankly, I think LL needs to take a "hands off" attitude toward profiles and group information. If a person is offened by such, don't read it again ffs. We're all 18+ anyway, right? *looks at the Open Enrollment policy of LL*:rolleyes:

And before LL, or LL advocates state that the profiles and group info go to the internet....well, stop that!! Geeze! How hard would it have been to fix that "Mature" option in profiles rather than just deleting it?

Second Life being free now doesn't excuse it from having to have customer support. I give away a free vendor kit in world. I still offer support on this free vendor kit reguardless to the fact i gain nothing from it. The only difference here is that my kit is open source and second life isn't.

I'm still putting my neck out to help people set this vendor up. It was a promise i made in the help files that came with it. Most the time it's a simple fix. Once in a while i have to fix a code or two. But atleast "I" give people customer support about my products. I still have yet to hear from LL about this issue.

I would like to know what the problem with your profile is. I haven't been able to access it myself yet to try to find out.

But I am SICK TO DEATH of this whopping people over the head with punishments for things that they won't even tell you what the thing you've supposed done wrong IS.

How this EVER got considered a good system by ANYONE with the capacity to think at ALL is a complete mystery to me.

I have never heard of a system where you get punished so vaguely - or where, when you ask what it was, they refuse to tell you.

(Well, I've heard of some, but they are in societies not considered good.)

I hope you get this cleared up.

They need to change their policy - instead of always replying, "We can't discuss discipline actions in the forums," they ought to just be honest and say, "We won't even discuss your discipline action with you. Ever. Don't ask. Whatever you were doing, just stop doing all of it. That way you'll stop doing the wrong thing."

Yea it definatly needs to change. I meen lets say John Doe (made up character) gets a email from linden lab saying he has voilated the TOS. John never leaves his own sim he pays for. He barely has any visitors. He logs in once a day to make sure his friends that share the sim are ok. When he reads his email he wanders what he did wrong. Any linden he asks cannot help him and tell him to talk to abuse_manager.

He attempts to email the abuse_manager and nothing comes back in replies for several days except the automated reply and a servey. He calls LL, and finds they can't tell him what he did and tell him to email abuse_manager again. At this point john is tearing his hair out. Now hes worried about losing his account so he sells his sim to one of his friends and gives away his stuff before it's lost.

A month later he gets a breif email from LL saying his case was resolved and no action is being taken. He still doesn't know what he did, and he never will. How is john suppost to learn from this if he doesn't know what he did wrong? In a way it's kinda like Killing someone as punishment for a crime. That person will never "learn their lesson" since they wil no longer be alive to do it.

The problem here is we have a abuse report system that anyone can use as a weapon against anyone. Same as Negative Ratings used to be. I remember griefers used to pay newbies to negative rate random people all over the grid. Perhaps the same thing is going on with abuse reports? Since abuse_manager is automated and brainless it just goes with the flow and sends out emails.

And with the lack of the forums, imagine how many John Doe's would silently just cease to exist.
