Okay, I suppose it's time for a more fitting reply ...
I am so absolutely enthusiastic about the reaction to the convention. The feedback across the board has been extremely positive. While I have worked very hard over the last three months to help make this happen, this would absolutely not have been possible without the help of dozens of people. There are so many gratifying aspects ... - Lindens hanging out casually with residents ... no special requirements or invitation needed. - Meeting so many excited residents, and so many I've known in-world - Hearing "I just signed up this weekend" at least half a dozen times. - Seeing SL & SLCC hijack the State of Play convention - Meeting people I admire that ... it turns out they admire me too! - Seeing the lovely job so many people did in-world and in Manhattan - Being able to avert my eyes in time before Bub mooned myself and another resident - Philip singing "Jeremy" at a Japanese kareoke bar - Pathfinder and I following up with "No Sleep Til Brooklyn" - Prokofy smiling, dancing, and socializing - Getting hugs and smiles from more people than I expected - Residents flocking in-world to watch the streaming all day long - creativity and enthusiasm of the builds by in-world sponsors and volunteers - how hard my co-organizers worked so many more things, too. Here's a list of people who helped out. I'm really sorry if I've missed someone! woohoo!! I had such a blast at the SLCC. Thank you again everyone who put this together. It was so amazing meeting everyone. I am going to start now saving for next year. haha!
I have no internet at home right now (till maybe a day or so more), and I'm swamped at work. So if you don't see me in world or in the forums much, you know why. I just had to sneak on and say how wonderful everyone was and how thrilled I am that I was able to attend. *HUGS* ![]() EDIT to add: Oops! time to update my sig line. hehe ![]() ![]() _____________________

I'm glad you all had a blast and sorely miss not being able to have been there. Thanks to Misty, Pendari and MagicJustSue for letting me live viacariously through them. With the phone calls and yahoo chat and cam I almost felt like I was there. Kudos to the developers of the in world events as well as I thoroughly enjoyed the live streams into SL.

Where's Mrs. Philip?? ![]() MJ ![]() It was definitely worth walking all over the Village and St. Marks on Saturday in a torrential downpour trying to find something that we would be able to put together in order to pull it off. This reminds me as the keeper of the outfit that I probably should take it out of the bag that it is in and hang it up. ![]() _____________________

Any chance that outfit could be part of ReallyRick's auction or my lottey? Both are to benefit Hurricane Katrina victims.

Next year, we'll have to do Pathfinder!
In addition to Hiro's list, I wanted to be sure to thank NEXEUS FATALE who we somehow managed to miss on the volunteers list - he did the awesome logo work! As for the next Convention - Cory Linden mentioned to me before his talk that at SL's current rate of growth, a year from now may be too long! In comments I've heard several suggestions I've heard: - more resident panels / choice between resident panels versus speakers - make it the full weekend: FRIDAY = Party SATURDAY = Convention SUNDAY = Resident Outing (to the zoo or something goofy and fun <grin> ![]() All cool ideas, I thought! -Flip _____________________

Next year, we'll have to do Pathfinder! Leave it to Lecktor to take it out of context! Let me rephrase that: Next year, we'll have to do Pathfinder's avatar in RL! _____________________

re: the next SLCC

after the convention, as i was standing around and chit-chatting outside, we started talking about different ideas for this as well.
i was thinking, maybe it could be split up into 2 SLCC events? a west coast and an east coast.. maybe one each 6 months? i could see how this thing will quickly grow in attendance rates to a point where it starts getting difficult to fit everyone into one place.. of course, we could always rent out the Jacob Javitz center! lol.. oh, and we definitely need a bigger "party place" next time around.. it was fairly packed as it was, a year from now.. even 6 months, and we would have overrun the whole bar! Ps- Flip, i think doing a RL version of Pathfinders avatar would be awesome! a bit more of a challenge, but awesome! _____________________

I think Inspector Clouseau's famous Tolouse LeTrec disguise offers some ideas on how this could be pulled off. ![]() It was an amazing time this weekend. I just wish it had lasted longer. So many ppl I still didn't get to meet or spend a lot of time with. It was truly inspiring to see so many people working together to organize this so quickly. Thank you for the opportunity to participate. -Pathfinder _____________________
