I'm completely screwed by changing the view to 64m... my rides are now officially useless... :^(

I dislike the 64 view limit because my parcel is on the edge of Linden World and it severely limits the range from which my plot can be seen. I mean people won't see my sign unless they are very close to my arcade.
In what ways does it ruin your rides Dionysus?

The lowering of the draw distance should be left to the individual, in his client preferences, not forced onto visitors (and builders).
Any ride that goes somewhat up into the air is now pretty boring, as all you see is grey soup around you.
I agree with Ama about the visibility of rides. No more: "Look, over there, whats that? Lets try that!". Only soup. I'm very close to the main entrance, but even my plot isn't visible from the gate anymore.
It also means I cannot update my map anymore.
Is this a temporary change, until the promised land of 1.1 has come, or will it be permanent?

I think it's just ugly. I don't really mind not being able to see far (though that IS why I bought this powerful computer and 3D card, after all) but the fact that setting it so low (8 times lower than I usually have it) makes the fog creap onto the plots. From one side of my plot to the other, I can see fog. Ick. How about 128?
(Now if 1.1 lets the client override the land settings, then I don't mind. I'll just go back to 512.)
Welcome to Londonworld...

Ok, let's make the reduction of draw distance an optional, voluntary thing and see what happens with 1.1.

The reason it caused problems, Ama, is mostly because my ride goes way up in the air, giving a view of LW, then it dropped from 175m up, and you can't even tell you're moving at 64m draw. I should know... I always SL at 64m draw.
