Er.... someone can tell me how to use it?

Read carefully!!!
The listing has two scripts in it: One very short at the top that names one prim and one, the rest, that goes into the prim to mirror:)

If I weren't so lazy I'd take Jeffrey's script and make it work in linked objects.

I think I had a copy of the original script, which I think worked on linked objects, and did copy objects, but I can't find it.

I'm too lazy to build anything to mirror anyway, so it's somewhat of a moot issue, but on the rare occasion that I make, say, a right leg, it would be nice to have a one click left leg. For free of course.

Free? How do you make a living? (or are you too lazy to care)

I make my living doing 2D graphic design and production.

Clinically depressed might be a more accurate description of my condition than lazy. I I do spend a good bit of time trying to find the answers to other people's question to be a way to pass the time. I used to enjoy writing little scripts but now when I start it doesn't take long before I want to take a nap. Same with drawing. I don't even turn on music much, I sit in silence reading the second life forums, for hours every day. So many of the questions people ask are answered by going to Google and typing in "second life" followed by the keywords from their question that it does get to be unrewarding helping people who lack the initiative to do that but who are willing to do the much more time consuming process of asking the question in a post. An example of that is people asking where to get old versions of SL. So there's a lot of questions I used to would have answered that I skip past now.

I bought some land so I could play with land related functions like llHttpRequest for displaying web pages but I lose the will to do it before I get anything done.

I haven't even tried the touch position functions once. Four years ago I'd have played with that for hours.

Well, at any rate, I don't really need a mirroring script, I was just typing to fill up the emptiness, so never mind.

clarification, I was refering to people that couldn't be bothered to read the thread and/or paying 1k to buy an essentially free script.

modifications for making it work on linked objects (and copy more properties) aren't really hard, just time consuming. I know I rebuilt the whole thing from ground up ~1year back...then promptly lost the final version in a HD crash(teach me not to use raid 1)

i'm not sure if sculpties were introduced to sl before or after this script, doesn't anyone have a mirror script that works for sculpties? and i don't mean mirroring the actual map, but the rotation, pos etc. i'm working on some jewelry with sculpted prims. i get shouted errors and odd rotations when i use this script :-(

Sculpties were introduced quite some time after this script. I've not seen a script that does what you are looking for, sorry :(

I suppose it might be possible to modify the script and have it treat sculpties as a simple sphere or something, but I've not dug around in the scripts innards enough to know for sure.

i see that the one for sale on xstreet says it does work with sculpties, i just didn't want to spend 1000L on it. i'm ok at scripting, but adding sculpt ability to this one is beyond me

Oh, I've not seen that. I wish I knew about that a couple of months ago when I needed it. 1000L is cheap compared to the amount of time I spent working around the problem of not having that ability :)

Look me up inworld, you can have the best there is for 600L$ Including Support.

It does linked sets, sculpties, flexi, face attributes including different textures from face to face. And of course it makes a mirrored copy in the very place where the reflection in the mirror is:) (sorry for being off topic, I didn't start:))

Or you can send me an IM inworld and I can give you a free open source version that not only mirrors the rotations, but also applies the textures and offsets them correctly.

Nevermind, I'm not handing it out anymore, and I've ensured the copy I did hand out was removed from the asset server.

I may in the future release a closed source tool that will only work on the creator's objects, since people can obviously not control themselves.

o.O

color me confused, but the first page of this thread still links to the original code (which was by a different author)... so uhm, what's the point?

His post above that one:

Sounds like someone used his script to rip somebody off, so he pulled it.

but the offer was buried a month ago? why not just leave it that way if they wanted to limit accessibility? exposing the thread just brings up the link to the original.

Just for the sake of clarity, let me just point out that I never did IM him and get a copy, and I'm not the person that "can obviously not control [himself]". I know it's paranoid for me to point that out, but some people might get that impression after seeing that response immediately after the one where he offered me the script, so....

Yeah, not me.
