Blog agrees with that assessment.

Tired of recieving 503 errors and am going to go play with redoing my lsl.properties file for Scite until it clears up. Everyone have fun!

I find it funny that I made it all the way through the scripting tips forum posts till this one =X...

I suppose it's better than things used to be... at least now it almost immeiately spits out 503 instead of just taking forever and failing to load like months back

pseudo-edit: 503 on submit

slow yea, but it has been functional, somewhat

but (at least in my experience) its one of those annoying wtf bugs, and after all else fails and the team is ready to give up, someone notices that theres a cable thats has a chunk of insulation missing while getting a cup of coffee

Oooops, You're right :p

It worked out for the better anyway. Spent quite a few hours working on my Scite lsl.properties, lsl.api and abbrev. properties files. Going to setup a user page for them in the next few days. Had already totally customized indent settings. Totally rocks now and can add custom Global variables ie:

Type "rand", hit ctrl/shift and it gives choice of "Random", hit enter and this is entered into the script:

CODE

integer rand_chan;
random() {
rand_chan = (integer) llFrand(-10000) - 10000000;
}

Right click each tab and you have these choices:

Clipboard
Check
Indent
Open in LSLEditor
Compile

LOL! I didn't have a problem on the Forums until I clicked on this link! Then I got:

503 Service Unavailable

The service is not available. Please try again later.

I had to refresh about 5 times to make it work. Okay, it's a great joke! :D

I am rather new to SL... been here only a bit over a week.

One thing I've noticed is the sl web site and forums perform horribly... 503 errors all the time, unavailable or slow loading.

What gives? Is this normal? It would concern me to get too involved in something like SL if this is the type of situation that is normal.

SL seems pretty cool, but if LL struggles to get their web site and forums to perform what is to be expected of the future of SL?

Again, this is just my perception from having recently joined. I don't know that one day went by that I didn't have to re-load constantly, and anytime I post I have to copy my text before submitting reply in case things fail.

Normal for SL, not for the forums and websites(except for the SL wiki). Never had problems like this until the last few days. The load balancer is screwed but they will get it straightened out at some point and everything will return to our version of normal.

Hey Tegg, what do you have against the bizarre pint-sized Icelandic singer?

I saw some entry when I logged into SL this morning that issues were resolved... yet the web site & forums are worse than ever before.

I am an IT Architect for a Fortune 500 company (in RL)... its really not rocket science to keep web sites and forums properly loaded/balanced and available, especially if you have maintenance on your equipment and a good IT staff.

I guess its just bad timing being fairly new here and seeing this as my first impression of how LL runs their business...

Well I usually try to remain upbeat and positive here(sometimes unsuccesfully). But I am beginning to wonder now. Forum is worse then ever this evening.

Yet I have been working the last couple of days on creating multiple pages in the wiki for my SciTE project and haven't encountered any problems. With my lack of skils we are talking and endless cycle of edit/preview/edit/preview/save/edit/preview etc...................... :rolleyes:

Haven't had any problems reaching the blog or my account page.

Beginning to wonder if LL took another dump on the forums and uncoupled us from the rest of the system??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Forum software years out of date now. No volunteer Mods accepted. An unreachable and seemingly non existent Linden Mod appointed.

:( :( :(

Have been creating multiple pages in the wiki with my SciTE project. I usually try to remain upbeat and positive(sometimes unsuccessfully :rolleyes: ) Yey I am beginning to wonder if maybe LL took one more dump on the forums......and disconnected us from the rest of the system. Maybe an old class 1 server in the supply closet??????

Software years out of date, no new volunteer resmods appointed, unreachable and seemingly non existent new Linden resmod..................................

A) dont you effin HATE wiki formatting tools, havent they ever heard of a wisiwyg

B) eventho the forum software is out of date their copywrite isnt, but lindens labs still says 2007

C) i dont know how many times ive raised my hand to help out round here, just another spit in the face since they wont take care of anything

i really really have to wonder about the future of this company, they want to be the future of the internet but yet cant ever update their webpages or manage a simple forum

thats not a good resume

it's funny I got a 503 going to the main site today... any other company would begin firing people one an hour if their main portal kept consistently giving errors like that.

I feel Osgelds pain, even I offered to lend a hand... and at this point I'd be happy to see almost anyone's help accepted.

at least the stream of 503's gave me a good excuse to waste some time trying out disney's pirates online (good waste of a few days, too many bugs / too little content to stay or pay though)
