I'm waiting for World of Warquest^H^H^H^H^H^Hcraft to get this function. That said, if your honestly so damn lazy you can't raise your arm off the mouse, move it over to the phone, and heft that heavy monstrosity to your ear to call for pizza, you should just do without...

What should such fellows as I do crawling between earth and heaven? We are arrant knaves, all; believe none of us.

UNIX has always had some forms of humor. There are several flavors of UNIX, and I think one of the most humorous is SGI-IRIX. When their system is about to crash, they have a mention of "high water true/ head for the hills"...
Also, the original "Camel Book" PERL, by Larry Wall, has a function called "rindex" which is a right index function, but they came right out and mentioned in the original book about it sounding like a function created by "Scoobie Doo"....
Humor (and Sex) make the world go round! Don't let anyone kid you that it doesn't!

Phone? Why would anyone willingly endure the unbearable process of ordering takeout via the phone? Whenever possible, I order online so that I don't have to deal with a person, who is generally slow and easily confused. Not to mention that a lot of places have great deals when ordering online.

Its not that those who oppose this dont have a sense of humor-there are many pages there, like (w00t, l33t, boobies, llDetectedSex, etc) that are there just for kicks. Its when they start tainting some of the information that makes the wiki a valid piece of documentation (adding it to the valid functions page, adding problems with it to the annoyances/bugs pages) is when, I personally, start getting annoyed. Remember, before the wiki? When all anyone had was really crappy LSL documentation? That's when Catherine and her gang got together to make a site that serves the community *correct* information about LSL. If you want an llPizza page, go ahead and make one, dont insert it so blatently. ==Chris

So why not add an 'official' section to the wiki for 'humorous functions'? And no I don't mean bathroom jokes.
Lak of a place to post crazy ideas can prevent the seeds of truly wonderous things from germinating...
No matter how silly or dumb an idea may be, it can sometimes spark another, better (possibly brilliant) idea for someone else that may otherwise never have occured to them.
Food for thought.

These places do exist, the feature suggestion forum, the features page on the support wiki, Game development issues list page on the games wiki If you can't find one you aren't looking. Considering the problems with the script wiki it would be safe to assume the lindens consider it the lodger in the unfinished basement.

If you want to put joke entries in the wiki, go for it. You don't have to make it obvious that it's a joke, but they shouldn't be linked from the reference. That's the whole point -- the truth and nothing but the truth.
Just because you can tell it's a joke, that doesn't mean everyone else can.

Well it looks like someone without any sense of humour (or reality) deleted llPizza. To the person who deleted it... come on... did you really think that someone would think there's actually a function named llPizza??
Crush all humour. Does not compute!

Crush all humour. Does not compute! Poor Cubey I feel for you... I think MOST of us have a sense of humour. But any content has it's context. If you're writing a manual, you don't put jokes in. If you're writing a joke book, you don't put boring functions in. I think llPizza() is hilarious but it shouldn't be placed where someone who might think it's an actual function. You say "pshah, it's too obvious", but what if someone is trying to make a mock pizza parlour ... obviously, that's an extreme example but how do you draw the line at what is "funny" and what "isn't?" You do it by having solid content. What if one person thinks it's hilarious to have an event handler that doesn't really exist? It could accidentally lead to a lot of misspent time. Perhaps a related humour page where things like this are obvious? --Jack Lambert

A little off topic, but still on the subject of the Wiki:
I'd *really* appreciate it if double-clicking didn't bring up the edit page. Is there a way to change this (i.e. is it an option, assumedly set by cookies)?
