"Posts like this suck. It's totally bullshit to drag someone out in the forums for a public flame-beating. Troy, you would not like to be the one being lambasted publicly so why do unto others as you would not have done unto yourself? If you don't like someone, put them on ignore. " (this quote originally posted by Briana Dawson) No one is lambasting you. I have complimented you several times. I criticize your pricing scheme and say the craftsmanship does not justify the price tag. You are a business with THE HIGHEST priced yachts in SL. Expect to be judged. _____________________

Well he just means he only wants you to have one copy out at a time. I've never seen anyone else mention that in their notecards, but I guess it's not completely unreasonable... However, the pics you took: Are those of the yacht your friend got, or of the "showroom" model at the seller's sim? If they're the showroom model, then that's pretty bad indeed. If it was your friend's, I wondered if maybe there was some lag or something during positioning that could have displaced some of the prims? Does it use Rez Faux or anything like that? I just don't see how you could sell someone a boat with a misaligned deck... The pictures are from the show room model in his harbor on display. i do not think he uses Rez-Foo/Faux since he charges 1000Linden to set the boat up for you if you have problems rezzing it. _____________________

Depending on how long Blaze's yacht has been out on display, this can be completely attributable to SL's frustrating inability to leave prims in the positions they were initially rezzed. Over time, and even very short times, rezzed prims in SL will drift, often to a quite alarming degree. I had a Virtual Reality Room that was absolutely perfect when rezzed, yet about 30 days later had drifted to such an extent you could fly in through the corner where two walls met. Jut about every building I have ever used has done the same thing. It's a fact of SL life.
If I was a vendor, I might spend the effort to realign it once or twice but after that, it's probably not worth the effort. As a buyer, I would simply ask the vendor to rez a copy for me where I wanted it and buy it if it looked OK. It's also a function of the SL tools. Like any tool, they have limits, and perfect joints 100% of the time is just about unattainable. Even with two simple cubes, mathematically aligned, you will occasionally catch a flicker of the seam. Again, it's the nature of the beast. Now textures are another story - a misaligned or mismatched texture is simply poor workmanship. That's one reason I like Juro's buildings - the texturing is done with great care and attention to alignment and scale. _____________________

All Nielsen liveaboards utilize a rezzer

The yachts set themselves up quite easily in one piece.
A few additions like some furniture and options must be rezzed and positioned separately. I charge for setup because it can take up to 3 hours for me to help new people inworld. I sometimes actually have to teach them how to find items in inventory. How to place the rezzer on the ground. How to clik it. How to read the english language directions in the popup menu (not a pleasant experience using babbeler in japanese). How to give me modify permissions for their rezzer so I can move it for them, some have no idea how to move an item. Even teach them how to terraform land to create additional water. I think you get the picture. So, I put the setup fee at 1000, a very modest charge for the potential time it can take with some residents. Most have no trouble doing it themselves. |

How does this thread not violate the TOS for these forums? Or is it now permissable to showcase every bad purchase, with pictures and names, we ever make in SL? This could become a very crowded, very ugly, very disheartening place if we all began similar threads. Let's keep the gallery to......pictures of things we admire.

And the point of this thread is?
Everyone has a right to price their products however they wish. If a customer can not afford it, or they do not like it. They wont buy it. If they like it, and can afford it, they will. I know if I have issues about somethings fit and finish, I wont buy it. I do not though, come and post publicly about something just for the sake of bashing a product. So my question is again, the point of this thread is? Maybe I'm missing something here? - Sam _____________________

A few months ago they lifted it for some strange reason. |
